The store was very cluttered, stock was scattered all over the store, but the one thing that upset me was the employees. I had a buggy full of stuff, I went to the checkout, was the ONLY person in line. The cashier was stocking things in the cattle run (what u call it anyway), the boxes were behind me, she saw us, didn't speak, and insisted of checking us out, she walked behind me and continued stocking shelves. I pushed the buggy to one of the lanes and immediately left. I've always loved TJ Maxx and will continue to shop just not at this location.

Anders Hardware is an absolute treasure of Downtown Northport, and I would highly advise any and…read moreeveryone to patronize our hometown hardware store over any of the big box chains. I've been coming to Anders since I was a little boy. Back in the day, you could only buy lumber from Anders or from Richardson's Lumber Company. My dad and I would often come to Anders to purchase lumber, to buy nuts and bolts and random odds and ends to fix our farm equipment, or to buy needed tools or other such knickknacks for our use on the farm. While Andrew no longer sells lumber, Anders literally has anything else you need. Whether it's seed for your garden, Bonnie plants if you're too lazy to grow your plants from seed, or any hardware necessities, Anders has you covered. In addition to hardware, Anders does have other little odds and ends. Little red wagons, little old-fashioned toys, and other such things can be found here. If you're having trouble finding something in the Tuscaloosa area, and it's something of the hardware-ish variety, I would recommend checking out Anders. Skip the big box, you'll be glad you did.
