Frankly this location feels like it is becoming a TJ Maxx or a Homegoods. It was recently moved to Southgate. Now the entire middle and bulk of the store isn't crafts but instead decor and tchotchkes. I was surprised to see how much fabric they did have and even had clothes for sale on the back wall. Their prices for garlands, wreaths, or even artificial flowers is literally insane. Who is paying $250 for a made in China wreath?! Not I. Anyway I actually came to this location for custom framing and let me assure you I paid top dollar to have a puzzle framed and I'm not really satisfied with it. So when you have custom framing done, they measure it and then let you pick out the frame and the inlay and then they actually have like a little picture on the screen you see before you agree to it. I did that and yet when I came to pick up my frame, I noticed that there is this bright white backdrop peaking through. Notably I stated several times I wanted to keep the price under $250 which btw they were having a half off sale. I still had to pay $297 and some change in the end. This is the worst establishment that I've been to in a long time and I spent two hours in the place so I can really tell you. First of all they had one singular handbasket and I was pushing a stroller so I couldn't use a cart.. second of all they do not take Apple Pay so make sure that you have cash or card it's 2024. How are we still not having everyone use Apple Pay. They had no bags only bags but told me that I could take the shopping cart that they put all of my stuff into into the parking lot which awesome. I have two little kids that I'm gonna need to carry around in the cold trying to return their cart now. The cashier was, but the manager seemed absolutely clueless.. I asked for help out since I had my stroller and now they wanted me to take a cart out, which is very difficult if you've never tried it and the manager, Kim blew off the cashier who helped me ask for assistance out and totally basically ignored her. And the organization of the store what the heck everything was everywhere there was no reason or organization whatsoever, which is why I spent two hours in the store looking for what I needed when I asked several different employees where things were they also did not know where they were, and they looked beyond confused to the point where I eventually just stopped asking after about four people, not knowing what is in their store or where it is. I will definitely be choosing a different location if not a different store entirely due to so many different reasons of why my shopping experience was made so ridiculously unnecessarily stressful.. avoid this location unless you like chaos and stress. Whether you're looking for sewing Materials, fabric, paints, or their advice in guidance on a project that you're working on. In an area that can be pretty sketchy don't let that define your perception of this hobby lobby location. Every time that I've been in there the staff is friendly and courteous and is always willing to help you find what you need. This location is organized and clean. We live out of town & I was waiting to meet my family for dinner, so I was wasting about an hour at the 8th Street Hobby Lobby. As I was leaving the checkout line, I heard a cashier say "Robert....." I didn't think anything of it at the time, and I pushed my cart towards the indoor cart stall. I was carrying two bags of wall art and my small "mini-backpack" style purse. I walked to my truck at the back of the parking lot, closer to the auto store, & put my bags in the back seat. When I got in my truck, I turned just in time to notice that a man was standing in front of the store taking pictures. He went back inside the store, so I went back inside too. There was three males & one female standing in a group at the front. I asked, "Is there a reason you're taking pictures of my truck?" The older male (who was taking the pictures) & female (who I assume to be a manager, given the amount of keys she was carrying) were both very quick to say, "No you're fine, there was a woman parked near you who was trying to steal, it's not you". I was parked in the very back by myself so I could take up two spots with my oversized truck.... There was absolutely no one parked near me, and I saw no one else in the parking lot. I see from reading their Google and Facebook reviews that this is apparently a problem for this store. Their loss prevention team is awful - making assumptions & treating paying customers like common criminals. Not sure if it's how I look or what made them act like that & then lie to me about it. In retrospect, the treatment I received from the cashier was less than stellar as well - in fact, she didn't even address me at all, even after I greeted her. My purse was wide open in my cart, she could see everything inside. I would have had no issue with them going through my bags if they really believed I was stealing but at no point did they ask me. I have worked loss prevention myself, and currently work in security.... your team needs a LOT of training, because right now they're simply an embarrassment. Do better. Normally, I don't blast people and places of business, but the blatant racism and stereotyping my husband, Leon and I received this evening was uncalled for. Mind you, we're both dressed very nicely (not that it should matter). As soon as we walked in the door, he was friendly and greeted us. Seconds later, we hear over the intercom: "Attention Loss Prevention, begin watching the cameras and recording immediately." Are you f*cking kidding me? And yes, I walked right up to him and told him it was uncalled for and unnecessary. He had the nerve to tell me it was for somebody else although there weren't many patrons in the store. But either way sir, regardless of who it's for, don't be so blatant. Have some professionalism! I had brought a defective item which I only had for a few days, and after using it for 20 minutes, it stopped working completely. The item was expensive, and I wanted a credit back to my credit card. Kim had someone go back to the department to check on the price as I did not have the original packaging, but fortunately had my receipt. Kim and Katie actually accused me of trying to bring back a really old item for a refund! How dare they????!!! I have been shopping at this store for 20+ years!!! The receipt showed the item present but I was still given a really hard time. 4 Employees were now surrounding me and all talking at once. I even know Kim and informed her that I was not going to drive all the way to the store and try to scam somebody! That is when I got angry and asked again for my refund!!!! Hobby Lobby has an amazing collection of supplies for modeling and crafts and still operates as a brick and mortar store so you can actually go in, look around and get ideas. It is a bit hard to find any particular thing you are looking for, but if you can find someone to ask, they can usually point you in the right direction. read more

Hobby Lobby Customer Service : EPIC FAIL! When you think "worst customer service ever" , places like the McDonald's Drive Thru, or WalMart come to mind. I am pretty sure the Hobby Lobby on 8th Street in Colorado Springs holds the record. Now this is a store that caters to "the old lady with too many cats, and does silly crafts all day", so you ask... "Why was Pete there anyway"? Well, all I needed was wood glue. One small bottle of wood glue. I pulled in, it was a few minutes to 8:00 pm, and the sign was flashing OPEN. I parked and walked in, was inside the first set of doors and about to step in the second set of doors when the manager says " We are closed!". I reply " Sign says OPEN". He retorts that he just headed out to change that. Now I haven't been in this store in over 8 or 9 years because of a similar experience last time... The conversation is going no where. This man is obviously more concerned about getting home on time, than making a sale and obviously doesn't care if he pissed off a potential customer. Fine, WalMart is 3 doors to the south. If you get any thoughts that " oh, maybe Hobby Lobby on 8th has what I need", save yourself the grief and just go deal with WalMart. I'm giving this place (specifically) a 3 star review because well, Hobby Lobby is my favorite place on earth. And no man or woman can come between that. BUT, the people who work here are just not very friendly. The managers are pretty nice, but everyone else doesn't seem to enjoy their job very much. Hobby Lobby's are always closed when I need to go there. I don't live close to one, so on the odd weekend when I'm in the front range, I've only made it as far as the parking lot as they are closed all day Sunday. Not very convenient for me, that's for sure. I also don't agree with their lawsuit to try to remove themselves from the responsibility of providing basic health care for their female employees. They are suing to not be required to provide contraception to those employees who would like it! How archaic is that? read more

The framing crew in the back are fantastic! Danny and Richard helped me with framing and matting eight works for a gallery showing deadline.They were efficient, friendly, had impeccable taste for helping me pick the best colors for matting and helped me pad and load paintings in my car. My paintings looked amazing. I will definitely be using them again. I actually find the atmosphere inspiring to the struggling artists journey. Think of all the artists in New York! read more

Assembling a tree purchased last I discovered one of the thumb screws is stripped preventing me from leveling the tree. The staff told me I can call the number on the box or go to ace a buy a new screw. I don't know what I expected, but a little more than "sucks to be you" would have been nice. This is the second tree I've purchased from Hobby Lobby since all the lights failed just outside of the warranty, but there certainly won't be a third. read more

Went here last week to get plastic canvas materials, only bad thing is it's not in the best location. Parking lot is awkward to get into but the store is large, organized, clean and staffed with friendly knowledgeable employees. Even got to learn something new while I was directed to pattern books and canvas. read more

My girlfriend bought 4 skanes of yarn and a knitting needle at this store a few days ago. She began working on a blanket, for my friends upcoming baby, and noticed the yarn had an abundance of inconsistencies which made it difficult to work with but she was managing. She spent 3 days knitting with the yarn until her knitting needles abruptly broke (that she bought here). She took apart the blanket she started and nicely balled up the yarn to return it to the store. She took it back to hobby lobby the next day and spoke with the manager of the store whom refused to return the items that were on sale and they charged us full price for. The manager made very tacky and distasteful comments about how the yarn smelled like "cat piss"...mind you we have no animals and the yarn was only out of there store and immediately being made into a blanket. My girlfriend asked this manager if what she was smelling might be her jacket, knowing that she works in the marijuana industry. The manager then again made more rude comments and said "no, it smells like cat piss". My girlfriend gave up with dealing with these people, left the 4 skanes of yarn and broken knitting needle and walked out of the store along with a couple that witnessed what happened that were standing behind us. I thought hobby lobby was a store with "Christian values/morals"? I will NEVER shop at a hobby lobby EVER AGAIN because of these people and this experience. It was very degrading and dehumanizing. Though my girlfriend works in the MJ industry, she does not use the product and makes an honest living. The yarn was never around MJ. This place should be avoided. read more
