The way the library had been used prior had quiet a bit of unused space. Now, all I see is shelves, and shelves and shelves of books, and other learning materials. I appreciate and enjoyed the little display cases showing off cameras and dolls, i.e. The only thing I wish that Midland County would have taken into consideration was that this building could have used a great deal of natural light and should have instructed the architect to provide tall and wide, shatter proof windows. If you read, you automatically realize the need for light. Natural light is always the best. Artificial light is a necessity for dark, stormy or winter days as well as night hours and we will never escape those scenarios, but the tall, wide shatter-proof windows would have been an absolute great thing to have.

Luckily, I was able to on a work trip since it was a very short walk there from my hotel. On the outside, it looks very large with beautiful decorations and paintings all around the building. When you walk in, it's a bit underwhelming. It feels like a stale business office. The book selection is actually pretty decent although I was disappointed in their oil and gas book selection given that Midland/Odessa is THE oil town of America. I would say the highlights of this library is that they have 2 gaming stations with games for PlayStation, Wii, Switch, and Xbox, and they have plenty of computers. I would recommend this library for residents of Midland but people visiting will probably find it underwhelming with its offerings.

Quaint library with plenty of seating and all the necessary elements of a great library!…read more There are computers, a small book sale area, movies, books, music and great books for children, adults, and young adults. There's a parking lot for about 25 cars and a nice park attached with more parking across the street. It's brightly lit inside and quiet. I've been to many other libraries and it's the first time I've seen so many tables and chairs available. It's very inviting for you to come and spend an afternoon. Also, great signs everywhere showing inclusiveness and that libraries are for everyone. One drawback might be that there's one main room so it's possible sound could travel easily.

She was rude, dismissive and made me feel absolutely invisible. For someone who frequents this library weekly, I am disappointed to say the least. 5 stars for the resources, spaciousness and availability of this library. I have emailed the director and hope that my concerns are heard.

There were several books inside when I visited on 12.23.2024. Therefore, I saved most of my donations for the other 5 public little libraries that I was aware of... one of them was a brief walk away at nearby City Park. Thanks to the following organizations for this opportunity... Hobbs Schools, Skills USA, Murray Elementary, Friends of the Hobbs Public Library, and the Delta Kappa Gamma-Alpha Lambda International Society for Key Women Educators.

As of 12.23.2024, the library was not well maintained. Books were rummaged through and bent out of shape. Even more disturbing was the fact that the whole unit had been shifted upon the concrete in which it sat. I still have to give four stars for this one because donors are still volunteering their reads to the program. Please teach your children (and unruly adults) to be gentle with books and to treat them with respect so that others may foster a love of reading.

Somebody had taken the time to organize it and keep it tidy. This was one of the few little libraries that had adult books. Five stars due to the fact that it was so well maintained with the cutest white shelving unit.

When I dropped off some children's books on 12.23.2024 I noticed there were only a handful of ratty children's books. No young adult or adult choices. If you don't know how little libraries work, you're supposed to bring a book to trade for one. It's a borrowing system. Hence, the inclusion of the word "library." Just because it's free doesn't mean you shouldn't take care of it.
