I can't imagine what Ashtray 12345's problem was, especially as it hasn't "got took over" - the same people have run it all the time we've been using it. That's the problem with sites like this - people can say whatever they like about someone's business from behind a cloak of anonymity - Ashtray wouldn't be the proprietor of another (failing) local fish & chip shop by any chance (one that just happens to be up for sale at the moment)?

They were quick behind the counter, though. They had a lot of options with fish cake, pies, and all the different sides and sauces, but I got a standard fish & chips. The fish was huge, flakey, delicious. It came as a set meal with the chips an even with mushy peas so you don't have to order separately. I also got my favorite chips with curry sauce, which was nice and the sauce came on the side and kept really hot and nice over my trip home. Overall, quite pleased. If you're in the West Bridgford area and looking for some good takeaway fish & chips, head over to George's. I may even go again during my stay here, especially since they also put a buy-one-get-one-free coupon in your bag :)
