We have gone to Hive every now and then for Woolworths and stayed less than an hour to get free parking. When we went there today, we bought $55 worth of groceries from Woolworths but didn't realise we should validate our ticket as we stayed for less than 1 hour but apparently, the parking have changed. We got stuck at the boom gate when we were leaving so we phoned the management who took ages and ages to answer - about 4-5 minutes. When Hive management guy, by the name of Elios, came, he demanded that we should pay a whole whopping $2. My husband didn't like his tone and offered to go to Woolworths to validate. But Elios insisted we had to pay and that we were holding traffic up. And then he threatened us with calling the police who he said would fine us $580. We have never heard such ridiculous threat. We had two sons of 2 and 6 yrs old seated behind. By that stage, my autistic son started crying by his shouting. And he heard the word "police", he thought that we were going to jail. So he was crying uncontrollably, screaming and kicking the seats. I told Elios to call the police as I wanted to have him charged for causing my disabled son distress!! But my husband drew out his Amex card to not cause my son any further distress. The parking machine claims to accept Amex, yet it didn't accept. What in the hell...by that time, another lady behind us was out of her car which we apologise for. It is the last time we will be using the car park at Hive and to Elios, thanks a lot for your shouting and aggressive nature which caused our autistic son to go into meltdown....we will sue the life out of you if anything untoward happens to our son. read more
