There are little toy airplanes that kids can pedal in and zoom around. And it's next to the landing strip of the airport so it's great airplane and Zeppelin watching too. But other than that, your kids are going to be bored.

This is a museum about the history of the city of Konstanz. It costs 3 euro to go through. My 3 year old daughter and I were the only ones in the place. There were very few things on display. A random mannequin of a woman in 14th century garb holding a fish, some paintings of medieval men and a skeleton are stand outs. I couldn't tell you anything about these pieces because everything is in German. There is also an old wooden sleigh that my daughter believes belonged to Santa Claus. There is a movie with English subtitles which was helpful and gives you the rundown of the city. The museum mostly covers the 1400s, then, randomly, on the 2nd floor there is a whole display with photos of the city during WW2 and Hitler/Nazi rule. It looks more like a celebration of this moment in history. Very strange. What is also strange is I was followed by an employee the entire time I was in the museum. Remember, my 3 year old and I were the only ones there. I am not sure if they thought I was going to take photos of their Nazi shrine or what. In any event, nice way to kill an hour while learning about Konstanz circa the early 1400's. Fun fact, in addition to their weird pride of their time with Hitler, they also love and idolize prostitutes. The cement statue by the lake that slowly spins is actually that of a prostitute or rather, courtesan.

Kunsthaus Zürich is free on Wednesdays, for those who are looking at visiting, and it just happened…read moreto be the day we were in town. A few tips and tricks for those visiting: They ask you leave your backpacks and purses downstairs in the provided lockers. The elevator system isn't great, and will always stop at the lobby, no matter what you push, so it's a time consuming process to use it. The restrooms look like they should be pull doors, but they're actually push. It's the oddest thing and the honey and I were both tripped up by it. Overall, we both really enjoyed the museum, much more than the famous Prado, and would highly recommend stopping in if you're visiting Zurich, especially if it happens to be a Wednesday.

It is free on Wednesdays, but that does not include entry to special exhibitions. What makes things worse is that roughly half the collection is currently closed due to a fire. Lucky for us the Bodensee is home to the zeppelin and they have a whole museum dedicated to the history of it. If you're ever in the area and are into history the zeppelin museum is a must! Not only do you learn more about the Hindenburg disaster but there's so much rich history to learn here. Some dark history as well being the zeppelins role it played during the nazi Germany regime during WWII. But the ingenuity behind the zeppelin and its role it played to help airplanes get to where they are today is truly mind blowing. This rich in history, totally immersive experience will have you truly amazed. Even for the none-history junkies this was such a cool experience with plenty of artifacts, videos, and even a life sized replica of a zeppelin you can tour for the whole family
