(I realize that sounds like a promo line, but it's the truth) On a recommendation from a fellow party planner, I contacted CPR in December for an event and was totally pleased with how easy it was to work with them. Granted, I only needed tables so my order wasn't complicated, nor did I need a consultation, but from the moment I phoned them, it was smooth sailing. Amanda took my order and sent me an invoice almost immediately after speaking with me; I picked up the tables the day before the event and returned them the day after. Easy peasy. And the prices are super reasonable, too. With two locations for pick-up/drop-off, it's pretty convenient no matter where you live. In December I used the West End location, but I rented tables again this week and used the Southside one. Southside is their main warehouse/showroom, so if you use the West End, they actually transfer your order there for pick up. I have to give a shot out to Jim (one of the owners), who is just so darn personable! When I popped in to pick up my order on Wednesday, he was super friendly and engaging - I could tell that he takes great pride in his business... as he should! And I got to meet the office pup, too, a two-year old black lab (I'm not a dog person, but he was at least part lab, if not full) who was the sweetest dog ever. I'm not usually a dog person, but I couldn't get enough of this adorable guy. Jim told me all about the walks they take down the street from the showroom, and it was clear this puppy's living the life. I will certainly be using Classic Party Rentals for many events to come!

Calling Lauren a wedding planner is an incomplete characterization. Lauren is a visionary, stylist, and strategist who is able to both design events and execute the logistics and tactics flawlessly. My husband and I (and our families) worked with Lauren for about 15 months to plan our recent Richmond, VA wedding for 170 guests at an outdoor venue. The entire process was not only painless but fun. As a super type A person, I was not sure I'd find a planning partner who would meet my micromanaging expectations. But Lauren was incredibly organized from Day 1 (I appreciate a good folder structure and Google Doc). She also made planning FUN! I was never overwhelmed, never felt uncertain on where things stood, and always was sure that Lauren and I were on the page with everything - aesthetics, budget, etc. Fast forward to wedding day, and dozens of wedding guests who had recently planned their own events raved that Lauren was the best wedding planners they'd ever seen in action. I researched 16 venues, narrowed it down to about 8 or so, we toured a total of TWO because The Barn at Gully Tavern was the 2nd venue we toured. We waited a week before firmly deciding, but we knew by the time we had gotten home from the tour. Robert and Dawn are some of the kindest, most honest, genuine people you'll meet. They built the barn for their daughter to get married during covid, and then their next daughter got married, and they loved making weddings a reality so much they started doing it for other brides, and you can tell they love what they do. The venue is always clean, taken care of, and they're always trying to improve it in some way. The venue is GORGEOUS, while it may be called a barn it did not feel like one from a farm, it is spacious, beautiful, the interior needs little to no decor because of the pretty high ceiling and drapes and lights (you'll see in photos). I personally loved the option for hand picked antique chairs they include with your rental, and they even have some decor you can use, especially arches. They handled the setup and did a great job bringing the floor plan to life for ceremony and reception. The pond is so pretty, we got married in April and the trees were lush and green and nature was our friend in photos. They handle all the landscaping and every time I visited it looked amazing. While super random, I really appreciated the bathrooms by the barn, they built them from some type of wood that gave the whole thing a natural pleasant smell, they're always clean, and the stalls are spacious and provide privacy (good for ballgowns like mine XD). The guys loved the groom's cottage and it was so nice getting ready at the venue in their bridal suite. I love the light blues and there was a big bathroom in there and a closet for our dresses while we got ready. In every way you can tell they care for their couples. And guests! They have a polaris they can use to drive down guests before the ceremony that might need assistance getting down the hill. I'm trying not to ramble but I could go on and on about how wonderful they were, I mean Robert literally saved the day when our photographer wasn't going to be there in time for the ceremony, he called around photographers he knew in the area until he got one, and our ceremony only ended up 30 minutes behind thanks to him, and we ended up back on track by dinner! I could not recommend them any more, they are the right choice for a venue.
