The rooms are unclean, though neat in appearance. There was a very repugnant odor in the room. Topping it off a dead roach at the head of the bed. Always travel with shower shoes, they are great in situations to where you really need a shower and have a towel, or the motel towel appears/smells clean. Showering is an option and sleeping in your vehicle, though the parking lot is in desperate need of asphalt. The online reviews (Dighton Inn) on booking.com receiving 4.5 rating?? is dubious at best, considering having witness such poor conditions in multiple rooms. The signage has Shay's Inn... The replies from the staff and/or owner on square up were about saving face, by alluding there were alternative room options, e.g. upgrade to a suite and all things the patron did or did not do to make a better outcome?! This by insinuating the patron had slept in the bed...the covers being pulled back to inspect the cleanliness, and deciding not after the discovery of a dead roach. Let's say, never add insult to injury with such falsehoods and just own it and do better, Shay's Inn a.k.a. Dighton Inn.

The entrance to the rooms and the bathrooms do seem to be really crammed together, the bathroom door almost hits the toilet. Upon arriving I asked the front desk for a crib (majority of hotels offer traveling cribs for infant to be placed in your room) and she informed me that they didn't have cribs but they did have pack&plays, and got me one right away for my son. They have a "heated salt water pool," however, I can't say it's very heated. We also couldn't figure out how to turn the hot tub on and gave up after 20 minutes of looking. The breakfast room is very large, which is nice due to us having so many people staying together.

The king bed was fine, but the couch was completely broken, and you sunk to the floor if you tried to sit down. The pull out bed you can see in the photos was bent and useless. Not that anyone could sleep on a 2 millimeter mattress even if it had been working. Finally, the light could not be turned off. The ceiling light just flashed incessantly when the switch was in the off position. The employees just shrugged when we told them the problems. Best Westen Plus used to stand for a decent room, but this location is atrocious.
