I saw Dt. Korra more than 10 yrs ago and I swear he is by far the best Psychiatrsit I've ever seen in my life and I've been to a few. He is right on with his medication selection because he asks you the right questions and asks you for your input as a collaborative treatment. He is very compassionate and he is not egotistical. Great treatment plan that does not focus solely on medications, he practices psychotherapy so he's not just talking to you for 10min and giving you drugs like the other doctors I've seen. Dr. Korraa was able to diagnose my now-adult son with PDD and autism after three other psychiatrists and a whole slew of school and private psychologists failed to do so. These professionals incorrectly evaluated and treated my son for conditions ranging from depression and Social Anxiety to Atypical ADD and OCD. This was many years ago, before autistic conditions were as common as they are now. By junior high school, because of bullying and academic problems at school, my son was on the brink of suicide. Getting the right diagnosis led to his being placed in a special education class just for kids on the spectrum, where he thrived. During the past several years, Dr. K sees my son sporadically for "tune-ups," at our request. Don't be fooled--Dr. Korraa has a very dignified manner, but there is genuine empathy there. I have to see him much more often than any other doctor I have seen. Another doctor says, "Come in once a month." Dr. Korraa says, "Come in twice a week." This is expensive and unaffordable. He does not understand this amount of visits is out of my reach and I can not afford it. He doesn't work with me and my budget. He gives me free samples of meds, but sees no reason to cut back on appointments so I can afford to keep seeing him. He is much more tightly controlling of my meds than any other doctor I have seen. Other doctors write the med for refills so I can come less often. Not Dr. Korraa. He makes sure I must show up for an appointment. I feel like I am seeing a cop to get my meds instead of seeing a doctor. I have told him about personal things in my life regarding abuse. He said, "You have a Victim Mentality" then he went on to question if I was telling the truth about being beaten. He does not believe me and accuses me of lying. I guess I need police reports and police photos to prove it? This is heaping insult on top of injury and not helpful. My siblings, ex-boyfriends and friends all told me, "Do not trust him. Do not speak freely. Something is wrong with him. He can not feel compassion or empathy." I agree with their assessment. He is like a machine. He can diagnose and prescribe, but don't expect anything else out of him. He can't do it. He can not provide: empathy, compassion, support, kindness, sympathy of anything like that. He is too cold and calculating. I am a puzzle he solves, but I am NOT a human being. He is in the business of making money and writing prescriptions to make his money. I do NOT really matter to him as a person. I made the mistake of thinking I was a human being. I am not a human being in his office. I am a puzzle to be solved and nothing more. read more

Dr Korra, is very good at what he does and has been a lifesaver for me. He takes the time needed to understand, listens with compassion and empathy, has great breadth and depth of knowledge and communicates his collaboration and partnership in helping you get better. From the first call into his office his staff has been caring and professional and gone above and beyond for me as a patient. I have never had a long wait and the staff always keeps you informed. Other reviews talk about the long wait, well it's totally worth it and plus the psychiatrists who are fast are bad and are the kind that just write you a prescription and send you on your way. Dr. Korraa was my daughters guardian angel. She had not made it to his office in over 6 months and had stopped taking her medications. Her at-risk dangerous behavior placed her in harms way. Dr. Korraa picked up his cellphone at 10:00PM at night right before the Christmas holidays. He then proceeded to communicate with us and the ER to secure her a safe space. Dr. Korraa is quite the crook as far as doctors go - suave and charming and appears caring, but really only cares about MONEY! I saw him for 8 years and I've watched him climb the ladder of EGO. Knowing my family's history of addiction, he prescribed Vyvanse to my A-student daughter getting her doctorate, claiming that "people don't understand the strains of medical school..." My daughter has always been an A-student and is in her 7th year of school. He told her she has ADHD. She is way too skinny in my opinion, and I think dependent on the Vyvanse (which is like speed). Thanks Dr. Feel Good (I mean Dr. Korraa!). He also helps adults in Rehabs get off drugs. Quite the racket! Get 'em hooked and then get paid to get 'em off! I saw him for sleep issues and now get these through my primary doctor. He stopped taking my insurance and bills $250 for 15 minutes. However, if you're a PPO, then you can see him for 45 minutes for your co-pay. His wife Julie explained that that's how it works, when I caught her double billing my daughter and she didn't know I received the bill. They moved from a quaint office to a big high rise to help their rise in status. I'm sure I'll hear about this from my daughter when Dr. K reads this. Thanks for your help Dr. Korraa! I just had my first appointment with Dr. Korraa today. He listened to everything I had to say about my problems and the various medications I had taken in the past, not to mention my family history. By the end of the appointment he had decided to start a diagnosis that every other psychiatrist had missed that would make quite a bit of sense of my situation. He also recommended supplemental therapy for my ADHD because of just medication not working out for me, another thing no other psychiatrist has done. I cannot recommend him more. read more

We have seen Dr. Korraa one time but found him to be compassionate, understanding and helpful. In no way did we find any negatives from the staff or from the Dr. We are looking forward to the future and find Dr Korraa to be about the patient. He accepts our insurance which is very rare these days and is not first to jump into an inpatient re-hab which besides being very expensive, shows him to be not about the money but what is best for the patient. He has confidence in his patients and LISTENS. So far he has been accessible one hundred percent. I could not speak more highly of a physician. I feel like there is going to be a brighter future. We were seeing a ton of psychiatrists for my mom before we found Dr. Korraa. He was the first doctor to sit down and actually take time to listen to my mom's symptoms despite his long wait outside as opposed to other doctors who just push meds. Dr. Korraa was knowledgeable in all aspects, and even thought outside the box to seek an answer to my mother's illness. Although what happened with her is hard to diagnose and no doctor seems to know how to deal with her, Dr. Korraa tried his best to pair medications so that they'd work effectively with my mother who is extremely sensitive to medication. He is one of the very best in the business, and has done extensive research and done many studies, written many papers, on various illnesses in psychiatry. He is so great and so understanding. He also really goes out of his way to do what is in his power to help, and is very responsive to emergency texts as well as responding phone calls which I find surprising because he has a huge patient base. read more

First of all let me start by saying it sounds like you are acting like a victim... Feeling like you're going to see a cop instead of a psychaiatrist for your meds should kinda ring a bell. He's a doctor, and a good one at that, damn right he's going to monitor your medication instead of write you a prescription and get you out of the office. Also, if he's telling you to come in twice a week it's cause he feels like you need to be monitored for progress; otherwise he would tell you to come less. The guy does very well and is deserving of it; I'm sure your underlying conspiracy that he's after your money is paranoia. If its getting pricey TALK TO HIM he can work something out for you he's a good guy. No sympathy or compassion? He's your doctor, not your mother... he's going to be objective and tell you his professional opinion and diagnosis not cater to your narcissism or ego. If Dr. Korraa's a psychaitrist seeing you twice a week and he told you something, there's probably some validation in it. I'd go with the professional objective opinion over what your friends and family think... he's a doctor for a reason. And by the way he's a very compassionate person just don't expect a doctor to tell you what you "want" to hear, he's going to tell you what you need to hear. And saying you're not a puzzle, you're a human being.... you keep sounding like a victim (no offense) so it just gives more merit to what he's telling you.... OK COOL TIME FOR MY REVIEW: Let me start off by saying i've seen different psychaiatrists (not to brag or anything).... When I met Dr. Korraa the words "finally" popped into my head. He was caring, informative, accurate in his diagnosis, and most importantly he improved my life. Different psychaiatrist would prescribe medications for long periods of time even when I was showing no results or improvements. There concern was minimal and all they cared about was medication. Dr. Korraa is a whole package deal. He was the only psychaiatrist I could connect with, he kept me accountable, he was available through phone, email, etc., whenever i needed advice. Awesome guy. Let me add... he's not just some "feel good, aroma therapy, hippy" kind of doctor; HE GETS RESULTS. I give credit where credit is due; because of his help there are a lot of things I've accomplished that I never thought I'd do :) and let me tell you.... it feels good. I called to make an appointment in March with Dr. Korraa and couldn't get in for one month. I was called one week before my appointment and told that my Anthem Blue Cross PPO insurance did not cover Dr. Korraa. My appointment was cancelled. I checked into this and discovered that this was NOT the case. Dr. Korraa's office had checked the wrong insurance and Dr. Korraa was indeed an in-network provider. I was given another appointment about 2 weeks out. This is now 6 weeks from the time I requested an appointment. My son had died and the office knew this was the reason I was seeking therapy. I was just called 6 days prior to this appointment and told that Dr. Korraa had changed office policy and was no longer accepting Anthem Blue Cross effective immediately AND that he was not taking new patients. After waiting 6 weeks to see Dr. Korraa for a serious grief therapy appointment (my son died), I am now left with no appointment and not even a referral to someone else. This is unforgiveable! read more
