Interestingly, Cody called me that same night to discuss our concerns. He had a variety of excuses for why he hadn't responded to our email. We agreed to have him out to our home so he could see all of the concerns in person. While we wanted to get these issues addressed ASAP, Cody was focused on his company being involved in a TV show and asked that we wait to meet until 9/28/26 at 3:30pm. We agreed. At the end of the call, Cody asked me if I'd be willing to remove my review on Google just until we met and had a plan to fix the issues. In good faith, I agreed. Wrong decision as it appears getting the review taken down was the only thing motivating him to stand behind his company's work. 9/28/26 came and by 3:45pm Cody still hadn't shown up nor called. I texted him to see if he was still planning to come. He called me back 5 min later saying "he knows he should have been there by now", "he knew he shouldn't have scheduled it for a Monday as he'd be too busy" and "I'm now waiting for one of my other project managers to get here so he can come with me. We can be there around 5pm." Cody and his project manager arrive at our home. They spent almost 2 hours here looking at all of our ceilings, taking pictures and videos and hearing all of our complaints. They both agreed that the ceiling work was not done well and needed a lot of repairs in every room! Cody had a lot of reasons why it wasn't done well (the crew wasn't who he originally thought was going to be doing it, the crew that ended up doing it wasn't experienced enough, he didn't know it was only 2 guys on the crew as he thought it was more). Cody stated "I don't think I'll be able to get you the plan tonight but will tomorrow." We expressed our concern that follow through has not been a strength nor has their workmanship but we would look at his plan. It is now 10/1/26 and we have not received the plan nor any communication of any kind. *********************************************************** Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend Durahome Painting Plus for popcorn ceiling removal/knockdown application. We recently hired them to complete this job on all of the ceilings in our home (approx 1800sq ft). The cost of the job was just over $10,000. Before hiring them, I read all of the reviews on Google, Angi's, Yelp and Facebook. Given the positive reviews, the thorough estimate and the salesmanship of the owner/estimator, we hired Durahome Painting Plus. We were quoted it would take approx 5 days - they ended up being at our home 8 full days and 1 partial day due to problems. A large part of the kitchen had to be redone as the knockdown texture was terrible. I frequently pointed out areas of concern to Joe in person and via text (including pictures). Sometimes I had to point out the same areas more than once. Some of them still were not improved. The workmanship was very poor in many areas. We have mud/paint splatter on our walls, woodwork, doors, cabinets and carpet. There seems to be excessive wall damage where they yanked the tape off. The knockdown texture is inconsistent in every room. Some areas still look like a popcorn ceiling. We recently found areas that don't even have paint. Overall, the job was terrible. No attention to detail. We are now tasked with finding a company that will do the repairs as Durahome Painting Plus seemingly is not prioritizing the job since they've been paid. Do not hire this company.

This is the second time we've worked with Minneapolis House Painters and we love them. For both our interior and exterior projects the job was done beautifully by skilled workers. They did such a great job, I had them paint a bedroom and two bathrooms in my home. They use Hirshfield's paint, which provides gorgeous color and coverage. One bathroom was a dark, slate gray and another an eye-watering turquoise (my selections from a long time ago). The light gray they are now is gorgeous. My painter was neat, professional, and carefully protected carpet in the bedroom. I highly recommend FreshCoat Painters!

(I wish they had left a gallon of Goof Off Ultimate Remover.) Lowlights: Expensive! (You don't always get what you pay for.) Most of the prep work was dismal. Claimed to have completed the job when it was not yet done. Not consumer oriented Unprofessional Careless--left debris strewn about the yard. There are areas of overspray. The crew managed to splatter exterior paint on the interior of the door and trim. My security light fixture is covered in paint and the sensor pointed toward the heavens. This experience really made me wish my longtime painter had not retired. He was a craftsman of the highest order. He was meticulous. He always completed the job just as we requested. He excelled at his craft to such a degree that I was always happy to give him more than the estimated amount. We are in need of some interior painting. If anyone knows of a good painter, please let me know.

I just had Bourbon Zeigler redo my bathroom, and he did a fabulous job. He ripped the tiles off the…read morewall, built out the walls, skim-coated the walls, installed some floorboards, and painted the walls & ceiling in my bathroom. Now, the walls have a smooth finish and look wonderful. He even painted a couple of doors for me at no charge and cleaned up after himself when he finished working. Bourbon is friendly, honest, reliable, organized, and very meticulous in his work. I can't say enough good things about all the work he did to make my bathroom look brand new. I highly recommend calling him if you need someone to paint your apartment.

Original Review 6/6/11 - After discussing a painting and plastering job on the phone, I set up an initial walk through appointment a week in advance. Unfortunately, on the day of the appointment, Mr. Zeigler was a no show. When I called to find out where he was, he didn't remember the appointment and said that I should have reconfirmed with him. He never mentioned this requirement during our conversation; I simply thought making a appointment was making an appointment. If it was so crucial for him to reconfirm he could have called or texted, but he didn't. He just forgot we existed as soon as the phone disconnected. When I asked him if he could still show up, he said he was too far to make it and was already involved in another project. So despite our prearranged appointment, he probably had no intention of showing up and honoring his commitment. Or he just forgot. Either way, really lame. I found the entire experience to be very unprofessional. We're talking about a job (potentially) for thousands of dollars, not odds and ends. Seems to me that he just didn't take the whole thing seriously, which, if you ask me, is not a trait you want in a contractor.
