I recently started following them on Facebook, and love that they post almost daily updates on new vinyl coming into the shop, and will even put a 7 day hold on items they post if you request. Last week was my first time visiting, and although it's not a big shop, they've got it packed, and well organized, offering music sorted out by many different genres, and sub-organized within the genres in alphabetical order. Pricing varies, assuming based on amount of specific items in inventory, rarity, and condition. The staff was friendly, and welcoming, asking if there were specific items I was looking for. Great spot to have in town, but potentially financially dangerous for music lovers out there! Though it was my first time, I'm certain it won't be my last. Give them a like on a Facebook, and stop in to pick up some of your favorites.

With its location on a strip, parking can be a hassle. I found one way in the back of the lot. It was a short walk but it was raining. Inside, it was cozy but an abundance of records with a huge variety. There were records on the wall and in binds. The records are separated by genres and the price of each are on each individual record. The prices varied. We ended up getting 3 records which was $90 total. The cashier was friendly. I recommend!

I was greeted after already being in the store for a little while. There was no one else shopping but me. Two ladies were working and they offered help, but I was only browsing. Not looking for anything specific. There were several cool things I saw but the prices were way beyond what I was comfortable paying. They had lots of furniture to choose from but that's not what I was in the market for. They also paint and refinish furniture and it was beautiful. It really was. This was fun to walk around and browse.

How am I only finding out about this place?…read more After stopping into Burke Street pizza for the first time, the retro signage on the door caught my eye and we had to go and check it out. I was immediately welcomed by a wall of pokémon themed collectibles and a christmas tree decorated with the like. So cute! It was also really neat to see these retro games and consoles that could really take front and center stage. Unlike other used game stores, they really elevated and gave these a more dignified showcasing of value. Had me questioning whether I should be selling my old game boy games and consoles! Seems to be a market for this and I'm glad to see it. Felt like walking into an EB Game store for me. Shows how long I've been around. Sheesh.

Birdsnest is actually located right upstairs from the Needlecraft Center on Main Street in Davidson. It seems weird, but you walk into the house and head upstairs to the second floor. The Birdsnest consists of a retail shop and a place to get some music lessons. There is a little room that is cluttered with tons of vinyl records, which is what drew us here in the first place. The prices were pretty good and the quality of the records was great. They also have a small selection of CDs and other music formats, but it's mainly about the records. There are other rooms upstairs that are dedicated to music lessons, both instrumental and vocal. Birdsnest is a pretty cool addition to downtown Davidson and worth checking out if you want some vinyl or want some professional assistance in becoming a rock god.

I was always curious what they had, and was pleased to find they have a nice selection of vinyl, sorted by genre and alphabetically, as well as old stereo components (receivers, turntables, cd decks, etc) from many manufacturers. They carry array of speakers in all sizes, and and brands, as well as a small selection of used CDs, Cassettes, and old concert posters. My husband even found an album in perfect condition that he had been wanting in the one dollar bin. Immediately when you walk in, they've got two units of $1 records with a lot of good stuff to browse through. The overall selection is not as vast as other stores in the Charlotte area, but still stocked with quality vinyl. The music in the store changes every few minutes, and that's because they clean all of their records (except the $1 choices) and test them before pricing them and putting them out for sale. If you're looking for a shop that may have some reasonably priced gems that haven't been picked through, definitely check these guys out!
