The women teaching the classes were incredibly friendly and did a great job explaining the rules in a way that was easy to understand. The library itself is very nice--clean, bright, and filled with natural light. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I'd highly recommend the Mahjong classes to anyone interested in learning the game.

I found a magazine and a comfortable chair far from other people and read. On my way out, I got a new library card and checked out a Culture Pass for the Tucson Museum of Art. My local library branch has some amazing librarians who are so knowledgable, helpful, and…read morecommunity-oriented. This branch is very small but has so much to offer! Firstly, they have a great computer room for those who need to access computer services. Secondly, while this is not a typical branch where you can go and browse a large selection of books/media, it is a great hub for making media reservations with the library system online and having them shipped to this branch for pickup. Thirdly, this library has flyers and information about community events and public health information and is valuable to our hyperlocal neighborhood! I was also able to pick up covid tests for our household here, and the librarians helped me to connect mine and my husband's library card accounts so we can pick up each other's library materials for the other!

Save yourself the hassle and go to either a different library or the UofA library…read more They keep the A/C super cold, i asked them if they could make it warmer and they replied with how they get hot in the employees-only room. And i told them everybody is wearing sweaters and jackets. So they didn't answer my question but inferred No. Don't they wanna save the environment? And their response was the employees get hot in the employees-only room? Sorry but the library exists to serve the public, not to serve the employee. The customer always comes first. I'm not getting paid to be there, they are. I'm not at work, they are. Oh and definitely don't go in the afternoon/evening because that's when there's LOUD children there. When i was a child, if i was ever loud while in the library or even school library, i'd get reprimanded. This particular branch seems to not maintain a QUIET atmosphere. When i complained the employee's response was, "We're a small library...and this is as loud as it's gonna get." Btw, not only are the children loud but they cuss. When i was little i couldn't cuss around adults or i'd get reprimanded. They literally get so loud that you can hear them even while in a private room. So loud that you can hear them while wearing rubber-tipped earbuds from the other room. This is unacceptable. A library is supposed to be quiet, period. If you want your child to be loud, take it elsewhere. This is not your home. I've been coming to this branch for years, since before this particular employee was working there. Even before it got renovated it was quiet, despite the librarians having nice activities where they'd e.g. read to children, AND IT USED TO BE SMALLER! I've never had a problem with noise until i went to this particular branch recently. The employees i interracted with might as well have given me the finger. And i think one of them was the manager.

I learned they have snacks for kids from 3 to 5 PM Tuesday through Saturday. I just love the children's librarian and Bri who offers a phenomenal story time Tuesdays at 10:30 AM. However 've gone many times for story time and it's canceled. This branch is not open on Mondays and so I have no way of really getting updates when things like this occur.
