Himalayak is located at a very central location in Altstadt, Bonn. Honestly speaking, I was not expecting this small restaurant to be that good. The atmosphere in the garden was superb, so was the service. The waiter, who spoke impeccable English (unlike me), was so friendly and kind at all times.
As for the food, the bread sticks and sauces served along with them (a chili one and a creamy, feta-based one) as pre-starters tasted really good. Samosas were fine, but they'd taste better with less potato filling, I guess. Pakoras were top-notch-I'd say they were the tastiest pakoras I have ever had in Bonn so far. Mango chutney served along with the starters also tasted great.
Langsha Momo I had, consisting of nine boiled dumplings filled with beef and Tse Pale I had, consisting of six fried dumplings filled with spinach and feta tasted so good. Even though the sauce served along with the dumplings was cilantro-based, it tasted super. Oh, by the way, everything served here somehow contains onion and garlic-beware if you are overly cautious. :)
Considering all these, I would say that Himalayak is a perfect place to have Indian/Nepalese food in Bonn. I strongly recommend the place for the inhabitants of Bonn and visitors all around the world-I am sure you will not regret! :) read more
