A fluke that I ended up here because the road that it's on is filled with motels but for 2 double beds, your own kitchen and bathroom for $90 with tax/night, it's not bad at all. This place is only rated as a 2 star motel; there's no air conditioning but it's pretty cool in there. Saint John is generally cooler and there's a ceiling fan and a stand up fan in your room. I had Room 12 which again, had 2 double beds but also a fold out couch. The place does give breakfast but it's not like eggs and such. It's cereal, coffee and a few pastries. It's fine if you don't care that much. My party had 4 people that needed to sleep and with a McDonalds just down the road, it was no biggy. Anyway, the owners keep the place clean, they are very friendly and are there to help with whatever they can (tourism, questions, etc.). My only real complaint about this place is that you can't reach the office via phone inside the room.... main reason because they don't have one in there. You have to reach them via a toll free number. Otherwise, if you're looking to save some money, come check out this place. Sure I didn't get to look at any other rooms but if you need space for 4+ people, ask for room 12.

Down sides: the desk is dominated by a microwave, and is not suitable for any kind of work, and there are some of the expected maintenance issues one will find in a private hotel.

I was able to park right outside, but also didn't have to go outside to get to the front desk, laundry, ice, or breakfast. The bed was very comfortable and form. The room was spacious and had a fridge, coffeemaker, lcd tv, separate a/c and heat controls, and great water pressure in the shower. The breakfast had breads, cereals, and the welcome additions of hard boiled eggs and baked beans. The coffee was very good. Location wise, the hotel is just a couple miles from the reversing rapids. The hotel staff were very friendly, accommodating their slow-to-work dryer by funding a 3rd drying session themselves. I would gladly stay there again the next time I'm in Saint John.

The room was a standard double bed room and it was very clean and quiet. The beds were huge and comfortable. The shower was very nice with a traction floor and what I think was a sauna feature. The room had a Keurig machine, complimentary wi-fi, table with two chairs, desk and T.V. with many appropriately placed lights. I didn't go into the pool but the people there looked like they were having a good time. Finally, the morning complimentary breakfast was actually really delicious. I made a sausage and omelet bagel sandwich and had orange juice, a banana, milk, and yogurt. In addition, they had english and french newspapers lying around. J'ai été très heureux. Finally, the parking lot has a lot of space and the check-in/check-out took less than two minutes. A little out of my price range for a regular stay but when I'm older I would go back.

Ultimately I picked Fundy Heights and kept my fingers crossed. It was a GREAT choice. Kathleen was a fine host and our room was perhaps the most spacious of our two week vacation in the Maritimes. I can heartily endorse this B&B. The bed was comfortable, there was lots of room to spread out, it was easy to find, plenty of parking, and it is in a great location just few minutes walk or drive from Reversing Falls. Kathleen also prepares an excellent and hearty breakfast (and great coffee). We were fortunate to share breakfast and conversation with several other guests from around the world. Truly memorable. Absolutely no updates have been made here for at least 30 years besides bed sheets (possibly). We arrived during the week and we were one of three guests in the entire hotel. We chose this spot because it was pet friendly and we could park our car outside the sliding doors, but for $150 for the night, it was severely overpriced. We paid significantly less for pet friendly rooms at the Holiday Inns on our travels which are at least updated. It's obvious this was a smoking hotel in the 90s and because nothing has been updated, you can still smell it. It's quite dumpy and I feel sorry for the super friendly staff that have to work there. We booked it sight unseen for its location proximity to the ferry and because it was dog friendly. We definitely won't be making this an option next time we're in Saint John!

I think that the price of the rooms is fair and it is close to the mall. The staff are always kind. The best part is that they do allow pets. Best Western is a pet-friendly hotel so they are usually the chain I prefer to stay in when traveling with my dog. I would recommend staying here for those visiting the city. One thing to note. If you arrive late at night, in the winter, looking for a room - your room will be cold as they will not have turned on the heat in preparation for your coming. Luckily there are lots of pillow and blankets.

We are not experiencing any undo noise. It's also safe for us to walk around at night to the many good restaurants and bars. A pedway is nearby to the shops. Only having one key to share could be a bit tricky, but we did everything together, so it didn't affect us. We were able to back in to our designated parking stall with no trouble. Online check in instructions were clear. I'm so very impressed with how clean everything is.

The management obtained a city street parking permit for me for a small additional cost -- a most welcome service! -- and it was waiting for me at the inn when I arrived. IMHO, no need to look elsewhere for a very comfortable stay at a reasonable rate ($110 all-in, off-season) in uptown Saint John. I rarely give 5-star ratings and I suspect the other Chipman Hill Suites are just as comfortable and convenient. Incidentally, guests of Chipman Hill Suites are welcome for lunch at the nearby Union Club on weekdays whether members of the private establishment or not. Next time I'll make a point of taking advantage of this offer at yet another historic "golden age" building.
