That may have really hit the nail on the head when it comes to describing this place. Getting here is quite the task. You really have to go out of the way to get here if you do not live in the area. And once you think you are getting near here, you start to second guess yourself and wonder if you took a wrong turn somewhere. It is literally in the middle of a farm field. Once you park and walk inside, it is wild. As was said, it is a dent and bent store when it comes to nationally recognized brands. On top of that, you may find an item that has a 'best by' date that has come and gone. You will also find items that were either discontinued or didn't fair too well when they hit the shelves. So you kind of get the last of an item in here. It is kind of a scavenger hunt when it comes to these items. Once you move on from that section of the store you enter a bulk area. Bulk items for everything from spices to candies. Each item is packaged in what appears to be generic type packaging, but is definitely a good quality product to have. I always found that ground mustard is way to expensive when you go to a big box store. I found an amount that was triple what you get for less than a dollar. I will definitely be coming back here in the future when it comes to my spicing needs. They have a good quality deli and meat section as well. Fresh deli meats readily available and some decent selection of frozen items as well as 'I never saw that in a store before' items, like a beef heart. There is a "cooler" section. I say that in quotes because it is nothing more than a cooler truck trailer packed with items that need to be chilled. Overall, don't come here with a shopping list. Just come in here with certain things on your mind to look for. Always note that you will be spending far less here as well. But you will be coming out of here with a far superior product.

Plan on spending hours and hours just to make a first pass of the rooms in this store. It is definitely an antique store with a a lot of old school furniture and knick knacks. The lady that ran the store was such a sweet heart. She had a little bit of trivia and random knowledge about everything in the store. She even had small grab bags of random trinkets for $10 which I thought was really unique. I don't think I have seen an antique store that had those. They would be perfect for a random craft project. I typically visit here when I'm home for a visit as they do have good prices on things that I'm after I did get over $150 worth of plants and flowers And I feel like we got a good deal on the inside. You can find everything from books to toys to yard, decor and General household products they do have furniture, and we did find a lift chair for an elderly family member there at a reasonable price they carry a ton of automotive and manly things, but I usually refrain from going into that section. They have Steeler merchandise as well as zippo lighters and knives available too. They have a year round canning section, hard find items like molasses, and an amazing selection of jellies. Their meat department has very affordable cuts of meats. They have a smaller selection of fruits and veggies, but they do have the basics and more options when things are in season. (They do lack of a public restroom. The plaza is older and is not getting municipal water, but usually the Dollar General a few stores down will let you use theirs or Big Dog's Deli has a public restroom.) We locals are so very happy to have a grocery store again after several years without. We are so very thankful for this lovely store that hires many local people and special orders anything that don't carry. They really are the best. I try to do most of my grocery shopping here and support our local independent business.

Their book selection alone is enough to make your visit worthwhile, tons of great Indie finds if you're a hipster (saw a 1983 WVU Rose Bowl shirt I was dying to get but it was too large for me), and then some high end items as well. The management is helpful and you'll always find friendly service. One of Garret County's best spots!
