Hills is a great place for seafood! We just went in to browse because our funds were low, payday can't get here fast enough for us. The store is so clean and well organized. Customer service is amazing. Their crab cakes look delightful. They have those big, fresh chunks of crab meat and only small amounts of filler. What we would like to try is the gluten free crab cakes. Plenty of gold in them for only $10.98 each. This store is a treasure trove of deals that will make you and your family feel like you're on the top of the world. Don't forget to add shrimp and seaweed salad to your shopping list and enjoy the best seafood in Media! read more

Hill's Seafood in Media has become a go to for quasi takeout for me. Half a pound of shrimp salad with a couple of shrimp egg rolls and this garlic lime aioli does the trick. All I really have to do is heat the egg roll in the air fryer for a few. Everything, especially that aioli, has a pretty amazing kick of flavor to it. Plus their Seachest crab meat is really good for homemade crab cakes. Better than supermarket crab. read more

This is the only place I buy seafood from in the area. Staff are always quick to help you with your order and provide solid recommendations. Seafood is fresh and their prepared foods are great options too! Crab cakes and baked clams are delicious and a great value too. read more

There has been to many times since my last review that i get terrible service, an attitude from the staff refusing to cut a proper portion and quite frankly at the prices they charge the experience should be better. I have no problem making the drive to Whole Foods for my seafood. read more

Love love love this place. Staff is amazing! Knowledgeable, kind, friendly, patient, what more can you ask for? The one time I had an issue with quality, I pulled the manager on the side (I know what it's like to be one) and she was amazing. Gave me store credit which I will definitely use. read more

Best seafood in the Philly 'burbs. Fresh fish-excellent customer service. The gluten-free crabcakes are delicious; the side salads (potato, macaroni and cole slaw are excellent without mysterious ingredients). If you want to know what the best seafood selections are available at any given time- ask to speak with Lee the Manager at the Media location and he will steer you in the right direction. I will only buy seafood at the Media Hill's Seafood - it is always a HIT, never a miss. Thank you Lee! read more

Clean and lean but never mean is Hill's under the sea selection. Always kept pristine in crushed ice, you'll find mollusks aplenty, crustaceans apace and other glorious gilled goodies just waiting for your hot pan. No joke, it's cleaner and brighter in here than an operating room. Piles of clams in all sizes, Maryland blues steamed and spiced to redness, and fillets both farmed and wild are on offing, for prices neither a great bargain nor a great insult. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable; they will gladly give advice when asked, and process credit cards for any amount. Highly recommended when sourcing ingredients in the suburbs. read more

Hill's Quality Seafood is of excellent quality ... well presented with shucking services and great plastic containers, and reasonably priced. Love coming to this place when I'm in the area. I wish we had one back in California where I live. read more

This has got to be one of the best seafood stores that isn't on a seaside pier. The selections are fresh and in addition, they have an entire section of rubs, sauces and dressings, along with dry side dishes to accompany seafood. I had been looking for some time for salted codfish (Bacalao, Baccala) to make a Spanish escabeche dish. They had it in boxes. Awesome. Their fresh specialties also included Mako shark and large pieces of swordfish, along with several varieties of salmon, grouper, and snappers. The place is also immaculate and it generates trust as to its management's emphasis on healthy seafood. Friendly staff. read more

Very fresh seafood at an affordable price. The staff is always friendly and helpful. They have a wide array of fresh and frozen products to choose from. read more

Hill's Quality Seafood - Big bag of clams! - Seafood Markets Near Me - Media, Pennsylvania

This place is great! Ordered pre-shucked oysters on the half with mignonette!! Absolutely fab and the people that work there are chill, definitely not uptight. I used to get seafood at trader joe's but they're so uptight over there now. I doubt I'll ever return! Hill's seafood is definitely my new go to place for seafood!!! Thank you guys! read more

It's the best --- Period ! Clean fresh Good Assessable Parking and reasonable pricing I recommend this establishment wholeheartedly

Worth every penny!! Fresh, high quality seafood. Every Tuesday, we do fish tacos. I come here and get salmon, shrimp, and/or cod and tilapia. From time to time I will get calamari. 2-3 weeks ago, I asked if they had salmon skin. I love crispy salmon skin and the only way I can get it is from a salmon filet itself. I don't remember who I asked, but they took my name and number down, stating that they'd let me know when they had a decent amount for me. A week later, for the hell of it, I asked if they had any in and they sure did! Then just this week, I got some more. They are so nice and informative! I even got a cedar plank this week! I highly recommend throwing that bad boy on the grill and cooking salmon and shrimp on the plank. While the salmon was good, the shrimp... the shrimp was epic (and on sale!). read more

Visited: Monday - December 22, 2014 - 6:15 PM In my opinion, Hill's Seafood IS the indisputable place for seafood. Many would agree. I've purchased a variety of seafood and never experienced disappointment. Accessories, pastas, and salads complement the experience. The college aged employees are always helpful. The Feast of the Seven Fishes ( "Fish" for the grammarians ) remains a popular observance. The Feast is observed on Christmas Eve - December 24. The popularity of Hill's prompted me to call and ascertain IF ANY seafood remained. I was quickly reassured that plenty of seafood was available but no such assurances apply on December 24 I arrived about 45 minutes before closing and was immediately greeted by an eager employee. I purchased seafood strudel, clams casino, salmon, flounder stuffed with crab meat and a small tub of cucumber salad. I served the seafood, salad, my world famous clam stew, and my bruschetta (pronounced brew-sket-ta). No, it's not seven but, who's counting? Add family and friends to complete the Feast! read more

This is the best place to buy fresh seafood. Great fresh, delicious seafood, BUT the service is even better!!! The staff is courteous, friendly and knowledgeable!!! Thank you!!!! read more

Definitely not my favorite place to grab fresh fish, but one of the better locations outside of the city. Service here is great! I picked up two pieces of fresh tuna steaks that had great coloring and tasted fresh as can be, which was definitely reflected in their pricing. I'll be back if running into the city isn't an option. Notable observation: While I didn't get any of the salmon, it was possibly the pinkest, most beautiful pieces of salmon I've ever seen. read more

Nice little spot for some seafood. Service is good. Just really don't think the seafood there are as fresh as they are claiming it to be. Crabs really had no meat in the shells, scallops seemed not very fresh when I purchased them. Although this might just be a once in awhile thing. Will give it another go when craving. read more

Great selection of excellent seafood, soups and salads. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I won't buy seafood anywhere else.

Unfortunate because this was the only place I'd ever buy seafood. About a month ago I purchased large cooked cleaned shrimp for an event I was having. I kept them in the plastic bag and stored them in the fridge overnight on ice so they'd be extra cold. When i opened them the next day they were slimy and smelled bad. My husband ate one and said it tasted weird. I called and the manager told me they were cooked that day that I bought them. So? There's something wrong. They allowed me to return for store credit. I bought cod and crab cakes and they were good. Oh, also bought a different kind of shrimp- from Mexico and cooked in the shell. Those were good. So again yesterday I go to buy cod and shrimp. Took out the shrimp last night and they SMELL. BAD. They seem firm and all but I don't take a chance on iffy seafood and i won't ever buy here again. I just threw them away since I don't want to seem like a problem customer. I will just NOT be a customer. read more

This a great place to get seafood and fish to cook at home. More expensive than the grocery (of course) but the fish is always fresh. Most of the time you can get a whole meal here because they will have one or two green vegetables, baggettes and pre-made soups, salads. They also have a large selection of marinades and rubs. In the summer, the best blue point crabs can be found here, in 3 different sizes and spiced perfectly.. read more

Their seafood is wonderfully fresh. Quality is great. Staff always friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Alaska king salmon is superb. Blue fish is delicious and very inexpensive. If you love fish and other fruits of the sea you'll love this place. There's something good here whether you have a lot to spend or are on a tight budget. read more

Great seafood at all stores. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. You won't be disappointed.

Best Place for Seafood in PA!!! Great selection and excellent service. Always a great experience!!

I purchased a dozen crabs Thursday August 15th I paid 69.00 I Love crabs I will pay any amount but, these are awful they smell and taste terrible Shells are slimy on top so, I rinsed all them but they are awful they taste Bad. Although they were cooked the day before so I really hope they swap them out. I'm going back tomorrow morning. I did tell them on the phone John told me it could be condensation. But I've never had crabs like this. And Cooked the DAY before. Something isn't RIGHT!!!!!! read more

I love fish. It's my favorite animal. I went in one day to get fish from hills, but I was completely astonished. First of all, they have a giant dead fish on the wall and it terrifies me. 0/10 for decoration. Secondly, what is broccoli salad doing at a seafood place? Last time I checked, broccoli can't swim. Thirdly, why are there two doors outside on either side? I never know which one to enter and get really anxious and half the time end up leaving. Fourthly, why are there random plants growing around the store? I don't get it. This place scares me. HELP. read more

I went to Hill's tonight for a piece of salmon and left with that and 6 AMAZING & DELICIOUS shucked oysters. Scott was so kind, helpful and packaged it up like a gift! What a treat for me! I am so grateful to have this store in my neighborhood!!! read more

Everyone should know that if you are going to buy FRESH seafood to go to HIll's, if they don't then they have no idea on what they are missing out on! I can remember going to this place with my father growing up and always getting not only the best quality seafood but the best quality service. This place has been around for awhile for a reason so if you are buying fresh seafood from your local grocer, it's time to step up your game!! read more

Large selection of fish, salads, soup, even some fresh vegetables. Their prices are extremely, absurdly, high. Blue fish, which has always been a relatively cheap fish, was $11.99/lb. at Hill's and $7.99/lb. elsewhere. That is only one example - everything is super expensive. read more

You can never get fresh picked crab at Hill's. I was told because the shelf life is short. Fresh crab will last 2 to 3 days, which leads me to ask how old is the other fish at Hill's? Nothing in the store should be older than 2 or 3 days. I've purchased what I thought were fresh scallops, only to cook them and realize they had been frozen, and had mixed results with other fish.' Don't mind paying the price, but I expect the quality to match what I'm paying. read more

So I purchased a pound and a half of yellow tail snapper @ $20.00 a lb. It was excellent, but full of bones. I called and was told this is very common for snapper. I thought that answer was a little crazy, so I emailed Hills. It's been 2 weeks and I've not gotten a reply. This is a perfect example of becoming so big, that you could care less about a good customer. For 3 pieces of fish for $30.00 I don't think I should get a mouthful of bones. Never, ever will I return. Ungrateful owners! read more

Overall I would give Hill's 5 stars for their crab cakes. We're regulars. Last week though, while there was lump crab on the outside the inside had lesser quality crabmeat. Hoping it's an anomaly and that at the next purchase Hill's is back to their spectacular all lump crab crab cakes - they're truly the best in the area!! read more

Really nice employee's who don't know that much about what they sell. Have been there multiple times with mixed results as it is unbelievably expensive for the quality/freshness of what they sell. Just spent $50 on supposedly very fresh salmon that was anything but...I'm done. read more

I still have some confusion about this place. A seafood place in this area that doesn't sell live blue crabs? That's like a cheeseteak place with no grill. Gives me pause too. Just how long ago where those crabs cooked? I was told they cook them as soon as they get them. I can't be the only one that prefers to cook my own crabs, so why not leave some alive for us folk to kill them ourselves? Other people are correct in that this place is very clean. Prices seem a bit higher than many places, but then again, the fish looks better. Fish is presented very well. Customer service was terrible. I almost walked out for not being acknowledged, but I was really having a hankering for some blue crabs. It wasn't that they were busy with other customers, I could understand that. It was that two employers had some lovey-dovey thing going on and the girl was feeding her (I guess) boyfriend. Giggling included. Get a room! A few seconds later I got a half head nod instead of the normal, "what can I get for you?". or even "waddya want?" from some other guy who was either annoyed that his coworkers weren't working, or mad he didn't have a girl to feed him and giggle with him. Felt sorry for the poor lad. That brings me to another point somebody else mentioned. They had enough people working but they all seemed like they were teenagers still in high school. What high school, or even college kid knows enough about seafood if somebody had a question about cooking a cetain kind of fish? It just seemed strange. I guess if really wanted some high quality fish I would go here, but usually when I want seafood I want the basic stuff. Blue crab, salmon. Salmon you can buy anywhere. read more

There seafood is always extremely fresh. There is no fish smell when you walk in. The quality is top shelf. A little price, but I guess the;'s the cost of getting the best. read more
