A little later he contacted me and said he got one for me! I almost fell over, 2 years of searching might be finally over. Chris gave me a pretty reasonable price for the record and I sent him a PayPal payment. The scary part was the waiting but Chris contacted me a couple of times to assure me I was getting the package and then he sent me a tracking number! What a stand up person! Great Store! Great owner! One thing that I came away from Thunder Bay with was the fact that there is a ton of gift stores…read morehere. Like lots. Like more gift stores than there is holidays to give them at. When you hit the Finnish Bookstore, the selection is huge and most to all of it is stuff that you'd actually want to give someone. The place does hold true to its title. It is rooted in Finnish ancestry, as is a large portion of Thunder Bay. It also has Finnish books, those being both in Finnish and about Finland. Not knowing a word of Finnish, save "Mikä ajaa te alhainen 'paikalla ei enemmän kalja'?" I tended to stay away from that section. There are different sections of the stores for different needs, almost like a very scaled-down department store, but focussing on home-wears and gifts. You may want to peruse the kitchen-ware section as well. There is a main kitchen area that I'm pretty sure is used to run courses or demonstrations on cooking, most likely Finnish. So if you're lucky, some day you'll be able to come in, grab some new kitchen duds and feast in some Lihapullat.

Brought a box of books in to sell. At no point did they ever tell me that it was store credit only…read moreuntil I went back to see what they were offering. They essentially wasted my time by not being upfront when I called. The best part though was they had my books for a couple of days to look them over, when I got there and found out about the store credit only I declined and walked out. Got home to find out that the most expensive book in the box ($90 or more on eBay) was missing. Phoned to find out what happened to it and was essentially called a liar by the staff member I talked to. So I'm out an expensive book but The Bookshelf gained an expensive book and cost them nothing but an insult to a customer. Sell your books at your own risk there or at the very least check them before you leave the store, even then I wouldn't put it past them to try and gaslight you into thinking you never brought that book in. Never going back there. If it let me I'd put a few negative stars the experience was​ that horrible.

I have been shopping at Kitchen Nook for about 5 years and have spent quite a bit of money, and…read moreintroduced more than a few people to this store. About a month ago, I purchased a salt shaker from them, namely because of its unusual colour which matched our kitchen walls perfectly. I paid about $60 for this salt shaker which is to most people's estimation, a lot of money for this kind of product. The grinder is warrenteed and the size of the grain is adjustable. Lately though, the paint near the logo of this Peugeot product started bubbling and peeling. I took it back to Kitchen Nook only to meet with a solid refusal to acknowledge their responsibility in selling me this product. I was told that the warrentee only covered the grinder which is true, but obviously I would not have bought if I knew this was going to happen. This is the first time our relationship has been tested in this way. They did not even apologize. In leaving me to cope with this inferior yet very expensive product, Kitchen Nook failed to retain my business. I will never return. Think twice before you shop there.
