I attended a GriefShare group here after losing my dad to cancer in early 2025, hoping to find…read moresupport and community during a really difficult time. I appreciated that they offer grief resources, and I do think the intention behind the program is good. However, by the third session I realized it wasn't the right fit for me. The group was very heavily faith-based and strongly Christian-centered, which may work well for some people, but I didn't feel there was much space for those of different beliefs who are simply seeking grief support. I also felt the facilitation could have been stronger. One participant dominated most of the discussion each session, which made it hard for others to share or feel heard. The group size was also quite large for a single facilitator, which contributed to that issue. Unfortunately, instead of feeling supported, I often left feeling worse, so I decided to stop attending. I'm grateful they provide resources, but I would recommend this group primarily for people specifically looking for Christian-based grief support rather than general grief counseling.

I also love that the Pastor ask that you only pay 5% to the church and the other 5% to an organization of your choosing. The staff is so loving and kind. The bible studies and sermons line up with each other. This allows for in depth study of what is being taught in all areas of the church. There are loads of activities and ministries to connect to. Great church for me to connect to the Lord, learn and worship. Thank you

I usually only review dog parks on Google Maps, as Reflectdogs Love & Forgiveness, almost 2,000 of…read morethem so far all across the country. Sometimes I find places that are so exceptional, either good or bad, that I just feel the need to share. I Google mapped non-denominational Christian Church. And because of my disabilities and dog I have to find one with certain seating arrangements. So for some reason I chose to come to this one. I have had problems in the past with people or churches allowing me in with my service animal? And so when I was approached as soon as I walked in by a gentleman, I should point out that I was trying to walk into the coffee shop that they so conveniently have inside the church, he approached me and told me that dogs were not allowed in there and when I pointed at the service collar the conversation became incredibly friendly and welcoming. Talk about preparing for anxiety and being greeted with love, I can now tell you what that means. And then when the sermon started, that same loving and caring emotion came from the gentleman up on the stage doing the sermon. He wasn't really lecturing me as much as he was sharing with me! But I also know that sometimes the energy you portray or put off towards others can come back towards you and you might interpret it as them being rude, when really all it is is they choose not to engage with negative people because negative people drain your batteries. And in my life I need all the battery energy I can get so I don't talk to negative people but you can't get me to shut up when I'm talking to someone that is energizing me because they have a positive outlook on life. You can also tell a lot by people in their reviews because they will either pick out the few things that they liked if they had a bad experience or they will go on and on about how good their experience was. I like to hang out with people that can find the best or at least a benefit from any situation. Maybe because I just think we should look at life positively. Because being dead is no way to live?. I was also able to get some life-changing answers to some questions I have had. And one of my questions was why do they say it's okay not to be okay when all I really want to do is be okay. But then I was led to take a picture that I think will help most people actually become okay even though we're not, it's the only picture I posted, and so far in my Journeys around the country going to churches it is one of the few that I have actually felt like within the first few moments that one of my friends was talking to me about how God would help me if I let him? Hahaha that is usually our problem, our own desires get in the way of God's plans for us. Just remember always ReflectDogs Love & Forgiveness, Show Gods! www.ReflectDogs.com

New Life strives to become a church that "glorifies God, enjoy his presence, and to proclaim the…read moreGospel" as a whole. Church has multiple services for children, youth, English speaking, and Korean speaking. My review will be mainly on the English speaking ministry. Background History: New Life Mission Church of Colorado is a church plant of New Life Mission Church of Northern California. As of 2017, it celebrates 14 years of God's faithfulness. It belongs to the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA - https://www.pcanet.org/) denomination and part of the Rocky Mountain Presbytery (http://www.rockymountainpresbytery.info/). Teaching: Pastor loves the word. He is not a pastor that references the Scripture and never goes back. He is great at preaching the Scripture so that the members understand what each verse is referencing. You can see his passion and conviction when he's preaching. Most importantly, you will ALWAYS find Christ tied to his preaching. There are also quarterly topical studies where members are given an opportunity to dive into various topics biblically. Worship: Both leaders and members take worship seriously. In fact, the ministry continuously looks for an opportunity to make worship sweeter for the congregation. They have a full praise team (drums, bass, electric guitar, piano, guitar, and vocals) who are talented, humble, and intentional when it comes to choosing the right songs to compliment the day's sermon. Worship is definitely friendly to college, working professionals, married couples, and families. Currently children worship with the parents to promote a hybrid covenant worship style. However, children (1-6) are dismissed (if desired) during the sermon time for their own program. Fellowship/Community: People are very friendly, genuine, and welcoming. There are many opportunities to get to know the people through a light meal together after each Sunday worship, monthly demographic events, or through life groups (3 times a month on avg) which is designed to live life together in a deeper and intimate way in Christ. In fact, many members that move away from the church miss the community the most (along with the teaching). There's a "family" feel to the congregation and many members sacrifice their time and resources to serve each other. Outreach: Globally speaking, church supports various missionaries around the world. As senders, they support them prayerfully and financially. They also send various short-term (on avg 2 weeks) teams to provide support and encouragement to the missionaries. Locally, they have participated in various events to assist the homeless, struggling families, and relief efforts. It is definietly worth visiting if you are looking for a church in the Colorado area that loves the LORD, teaches the word faithfully, and strives to be a community both within and outside of the church.

I can't say that I've ever been to a church that is more genuine and welcoming than Scum. The evening service starts off with a time of worship, followed by a community meal, and then onto the teaching segment. The worship band is never "flashy", which adds to the charm and humble nature of this church. Pastor Mike's teaching is from the heart and is easy to understand. Scum's church building is at 9th and Kalamath. It is from the late 1800's and was shut down by Denver's code enforcement. Scum isn't having financial problems as the other reviewer mentioned; but when the city closes your doors after being in a building for a couple of years, then there is a cost of hundreds of thousands of dollars to reopen those doors - yes, there will be some need for donations. Currently services are being held at other locations in Denver. In fact the money that churchgoers give regularly is invested back into the community in the form of homeless outreach, and other neighborhood projects. The staff raises their own support. Like I said at the outset, I love Scum. Every week I drive an hour to attend!
