I am really mixed with Olathe Tree Service…read more We have used them three times. While the trees they trimmed always look good, their employees damaged our mailbox with their truck. They admitted to hitting it right away and tried to fix it. It still looked bad and the door won't stay closed, so the owner offered to replace it. It is about a $250 mailbox. He stated he could either wipe our bill or he would pay for the new mailbox and would dig it in for us. I stated I wanted it replaced because it kept flying open; plus, we didn't want to dig the new one ourselves. In the meantime, I asked him to quote our shrubs on the backside of the house. Chet was a no show and called hours after he was supposed to be at the residence to quote the job saying he would need to schedule for another day. This wasn't the first time they blew off an appointment, so I called it a day and just took the free tree trimming as payment. It isn't cool when a customer reserves time out of their schedule to stay home so that a business owner can come to make a quote. We always lock our gate unless we are home, so he would not have had access to the yard. I haven't used Olathe Tree Service since then, because I don't appreciate my time being devalued. I could have gotten over the busted up mailbox because they do a good job otherwise. . .

I obtained three names and numbers of tree services from friends and called Sunshine late that afternoon. Before 8 a.m. the following morning Todd had looked at the damage and the whole tree and gave me a verbal assessment of what needed to be done, what the price would be, and when the work could be done (same day). Shortly, I received an email confirmation of our conversation and sent back acceptance as I liked their quick response, what I thought was a reasonable price, and straight assessment without any up-selling. Within a short time, Todd called to update me on time of arrival of his crew. By 11 a.m., there were 4 guys in my yard working on the tree and debris removal. They worked diligently in rainy weather to complete the job. Every bit of debris was cleaned up and the tree looks great and is so much safer now. This failed to do the tree any good at all; actually might have hastened its demise, but Dylan Bland didn't hesitate to charge and retain$500:00 of an impoverished person's money for a cheap fix that was doomed to failure. He also allowed his company to be weaponized by a spiteful neighbor who was compelled by the city to remove dead limbs that would fall over power lines and cause a loss of power for many neighbors. This neighbor demanded Bland run a heavy boom truck over a waterlogged portion of his yard for the purpose of killing the root systems of the next door neighbor's trees and shrubs.
