You have to package the Highline 179 with Ehrenburg Castle and the Zauberwald (magic forest), since you park in one spot and you have access to all three, with one parking fee. There are more castles to see, but most people will not venture farther afield than that. Buy your ticket/s for the highline at the gift shop near the parking or at any of the ticket machines, but note that the machines will not accept bills/notes above a certain value. The Highline 179 is the longest pedestrian suspension bridge in the world, it is 400 metres one way, and it does swing with the wind and as the number of people trudging over it increases during the day. Go as early in the day as you can. Hike up through the Zauberwald and then take in the views from the Highline and the vista point on the other side, before coming back (yes, another swinging 400m, but it's an easier hike down through the Zauberwald, the other side is much, much steeper) and visiting Ehrenburg Castle. Bring the kids too, there are puzzles and searches for them, adults will enjoy it too. Then drive into the town of Reutte, admire the traditional buildings and have a drink, coffee or lunch at any of the sidewalk places. A day well spent and which will build good memories for you. read more
