Do NOT go near this place if you are in crisis or under duress of any kind. DO get help -- even if that means calling a national crisis line. This place is the opposite of helpful. Keep reaching for help, just not here. read more

Highlands Community Services is a total waste of time. They are merely an agency set up to pretend to provide services on paper while bilking insurance companies out of money. They provide no services whatsoever. They are a complete fraud. And if anyone be so brazen to complain about the lack of services received, then you are subjected to arrogant paper pushers who basically tell you that you need to do what they claim they are doing yourself. The only reason they rate one star is because there is no option for zero stars. read more

Called today to make an appt with a new gastro. I don' tlive anywhere near Bristol or Sapling…read moreGrove. I have family there and given the difficulty I have had getting an appt (even with the help of my primary care physician locally a relative suggested I try here. The woman said "What kind of insurance do you have?" I said, "United Healtcare. Dr Bailey was listed as 'In Network'." She said "But what kind of insurance do you have?" I said "Other than United Healthcare I don't know what to tell you. I see a Group Number. I see a Member ID. I see 'Choice'." She said "We are not accepting new medicaid patients right now. Is that medicaid?" I said "No I'm not on Medicaid. I have my own business/LLC and this is my company's insurance policy." "What is your primary care physician's name?" I told her his name but explained I didn't live in her region. She said "I will have to transfer you to Sapling Grove since you are a self referral." I was like "OK". So this other woman answers. She asks me the same things about insurance and doctor's name. She said "We are a 100% referral center." I said "Uh. Why is that if you are in my insurance provider as in network. And the other woman who transferred me to you said she was transferring me to you as a 'self referral'. Now you say you don't accept referrals. I'm confused." She said "Please hold". I just hung up. They sound very disorganized and not very accepting of new patients. I think I will just wait it out here in the DC Metro area.

I called today to find out when my appt was in February because i Iost the card and was told they canceled it because I didn't pass the drug screen. I have tried pot 2 times in my whole life when I was a teen 35 years ago and hated it, was so paranoid the whole time. I havent taken hydrocodone in decades, so canceling me wout even doing it again or talking to me is the WORST thing I've ever heard of. Beware of this place!! Telling my abuse story is SO HARD for me to do and re-live and I really thought she knew me better than that. You are HORRIBLE HUMAN BEINGS and should be ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES. Robin

I really appreciated the front desk person getting us in in under four hours for a one time visit. The girls in the back who took symptoms down and some vitals were super sweet. Once in the room, we only waited for about 15 minutes before the Dr. Mitoraj came in. He washed his hands thoroughly and started checking all the usual suspects: ears, throat, lungs and nose. After, as Dr.Mitoraj was walking out, he mentioned that they'd be back in for a "nose blowing." When an assistant returned, the sample was taken and another assistant returned a few minutes later stating that there was an infection and asked which antibiotics we preferred. We never saw the doctor again after he sent the assistant in. There was no follow up from the doctor after the sample was taken, only the assistant came back in to talk to us. I found that odd and kind of rude. Dr. Mitoraj was nice enough. The assistants in the back were awesome. Although I prefer a closing of the loop, it was a good enough trip to the doctor for a looky loo and antibiotic script.
