It takes a long time to get drinks out here in the country and I'm not sure why. There were 3 waitstaff for the 7 tables and while the food came out like clockwork, drinks were slow to come by. We got our first set of drinks before dinner and were able to sip them during our meal. I was really excited about dessert and we ordered the cranacan and the sticky toffee pudding. My husband ordered an old fashioned and I ordered a glass of wine, but they weren't delivered until well after dessert was concluded. We even considered canceling the final drink order until our server informed us that the drinks were being made just then, and yet we still had to wait another 10 minutes before we got the drinks. In total we waited about 30 minutes for the 2nd round of drinks and by then we just wanted to leave. The restaurant itself is quaint and cozy with a nice loca feel. The patrons were all on the other side of middle-age, seemed to all know each other and were exchanging playful banter among themselves and with the bartender. There was a cozy, crackling fire - real wood, not gas, mind you, and just a general air of comfortable companionship there. I almost felt like I was intruding while quietly drinking my pint, but the occasional friendly smile from a regular kept there from being any sense that we were unwanted. It seems that the only food available is crisps and nuts, so don't go in looking for a meal, but if you're out that way on a cold, rainy night, you'd do well to stop in for a drink before you get back on your way.
