hello
Last November 18, 2017 I fell from a ladder and fractured my radius in 4 places. I had surgery November 22 and a plate and 7 screws put my wrist back together.
What followed was a lot of pain and sleepless nights of pain. I initially spoke to Matt Stott about 2 weeks after surgery who suggested coming in if I was given a removable split. I was very concerned about complex regional pain syndrome which my surgeon has suggested I watch for. Matt fully explained what it was, what to watch for and booked me in initially for 3 visits per week. Movement was the key, along with exercises. Even though it was "broken" the body needs movement to heal. I looked forward to my chats and visits with Matt at Highland. His assistant Brittney was also amazing! Both were patient and helpful and over the course of the next almost 3 months my healthcare team. In my initial assessment Matt mentioned a return to work of sometime in February and as predicted I returned February 20, 2018 to work. Physio continued and since I was back to work I saw Jaymi as my physio was now scheduled evenings. Jaymi like Matt was so helpful. Much time was spent doing manual manipulation, and exercises, checking my range of motion. Both Matt, Jaymi and Brittany were always positive, patient and helpful. Jaymi left the practice and I was lucky enough to meet another great practitioner at Highland, Dan. Like the others Dan was so helpful. Each of us has our own qualitites. Dan was patient and offered more manipulation, as it seemed my last 20 % of ROM was missing. In the summer months and into the fall months we achieved it. More exercises from Brittany and Sam but successful graduation from Highland Physio. I must mention that Cindy also always helped me with appointments and Insurance stuff that ultimately helped my healing.
This week I was back on the climbing wall at Gravity. My yoga practice is as strong as ever! A huge thank you to Matt, Jaymi,Dan, Brittany, Sam and Cindy I am forever grateful for your knowledge patience and kindness.
