I'm not sure what Highland Academy your son attended, but I'm definitely sure it wasn't the one my son did. Firstly, your tax money isn't going to this school as it is private. Any money you pay is for tuition, uniform, and activities. Secondly, no child is allowed to "starve" at this school as the administrator orders extra lunches. When you arrive to pick up your son, they will let you know and any payment will be added in with your tuition payment if you pay monthly. If your child brings his lunch to school, it is secured in the refrigerator (if your child suffers from any food allergies, it is kept separately from other lunches). Finally, sir, your child could have had a great educational experience at this school, but they're not babysitters. They are teachers and it is your responsibility to make sure your child has all the tools necessary to be successful. That means asking the average price of your child and if he is ordering anything extra (chocolate milk, extra pizza). I credit the teachers and administrators for having patience with my son when other schools would have classified him or asked us to remove him from their program. First, as a parent of Highland students for over 10 years, I need to address Rey R.'s poor review. I have a sense that he isn't even a Highland parent because Highland isn't a public school and his tax dollars aren't funding anything. If he were making tuition payments he would probably remember so I have a feeling he is a troll. Highland is a lovely school that doesn't starve its students. Please disregard him. Highland Academy is the best place for young children to learn how to responsible young adults who are civic minded, critical thinkers. The teachers care deeply about every child and will gladly buy them lunch if they don't have one. Because of this school, my two young men are self-sufficient and confident with a healthy sense of who they are, they don't feel the need to follow the crowd and they influence their friends for the good. Highland kids will respectfully question authority, ask why, and believe that they are a part of something greater. They are somehow powerful without a feeling of entitlement. 5 Stars. read more

When they say it takes a village to raise a child, this is that village. The staff at Highland are dedicated and invested in teaching your child. The small class size, mixed grade groups, various projects, school concerts and plays all contribute to aiding children to be well-rounded individuals. I am so grateful that I found Highland and am part of the Highland family for years to come. read more
