He will tell you he is a licensed contractor but he is not! He only has an LLC to do repairs not remodels. We hired Douglas to do a kitchen remodel and he and his crew were absolutely horrible. They left messes, destroyed our lawn, were extremely unprofessional and actually yelled at me when I asked a problem that they created to be fixed. Instead of leveling our floor, they laid tile on a floor that had a 2 in slope to it. Our cabinet guy had to build one side of the cabinet 2 inches higher than the other just to make it level. After we asked him to correct the issue, his solution was laying tile on top of the tile he had already laid to try to make the floor level. As you can imagine, this made the problem worse. And as if it couldn't get worse, we found out that he wasn't paying his subs. Our cabinet guy threatened to take a mechanical Lien out on our property if he didn't get paid. Did Douglas man up and do the right thing? I'm sure you guessed, no. His solution was to completely abandon the job after not completing any of the work we paid him to do. He stopped answering our calls, wouldn't reply to emails, and never showed up to get any of his stuff. We Even tried serving him with a default letter and he has evaded us for months. BEWARE! Do not get sucked in by his " charm". He wants your money and that's it. There were many red flags that we ignored and we paid the price for it. We are just now getting things finished and he walked off the job in March. It took so long because no other contractors wanted to touch his horrible work.

Of all the contractors in all of the state that came out to my house, this is one of the very few…read morehonest guys I met. If I ever have a job for him, I'll be calling his company first. I did have a flood a couple of years ago and half my house was gutted. I got several contractors to come in for estimates, look around and never get back to me. Mr. Maki looked the situation over and told me how it was. He said he was a smaller company and this was a near full demo job. It was just too much for him to handle. I mentioned how one guy came out and was extremely rude and that fellow had called me. I didn't call him. He explained to me that by listing it on angi, that other guy may have paid a hundred for the lead to call me. Then, he came out to the house and discovered that it wasn't a one-man job. Therefore, the guy was out the money. Not my fault. Mr. Maki even saw the exterior door was rotting when he looked things over. I didn't realize that. I saw how the former owner had patched it up. This guy is sharp. He tells you how it is. Not many left like him that's honest in the business.
