We are huge fans of trading posts but there is very little here that met our taste. Strictly country and western themed, this business is for a rarified customer... not just the wide spread general population. The person working there may have been having a bad day as he was quick to tell at a customer's child not to touch anything before even asking politely. It kind of turned us off the entire experience. read more

A very western themed trading post. Leather and western clothes are the main products available for purchase. The prices are a little high but for the right clientele it may be just what you are looking for. By far the best part of this establishment is the recreated look of an old village including its makeshift population. It gives it the feel of visiting a heritage site without the entrance fee. read more

What a great place! Custom, in house handmade leather. Trinkets of all kinds. Lots of local and Canadian made products, locally farmed rabbit in the freezer. The guy in front of me bought an awesome suede coat, and the owner added custom closures for motorcycle riding in minutes while he shopped. I bought a hat and a belt, both Canadian made, had holes added, took seconds, no extra charge, and arrowheads for the kids. Nice family business, and everything I saw was cheaper than you could get anywhere else. read more

Used to go here to buy my bags of leather pieces and hide and now his prices doubled and I can't . He said a certain culture is buying hides and furs all up and shipping back home to make things cheap and selling back here and there. Which has raised prices for us all :-( will be supporting the people at pow wow from now on read more

Established in 1969.

High Spring Trading Post began generations ago in Millbrook, Ontario, where the original owners Rick and Madeleine crafted saddles and harnesses by hand. They later moved to Havelock, building their own shop and expanding into handmade leather goods and unique gifts. Now owned by their daughter Deborah, the store continues to blend craftsmanship, creativity, and family tradition. High Spring Trading Post — a place built by family, for families.

I ordered a product online, and delivery left it outside of my apartment building, by the road. It was a SMALL box, easily could have fit inside of the mail boxes. And although I made sure to put my apartment number, the delivery person left it in the open where it could have easily been stolen.

The service was great, very helpful, family like. I found stuff there that I never see at pow wows, and its made on site, not from china like some of the pow wow stuff I have seen passed off as Native made. I had my moccs repaired and got a hand tooled belt made by the owner, BEAUTIFUL ! The wife bought too much , as usual, but all high quality stuff that I won't have to buy again for a long long time. Nice to see a Canadian still producing quality stuff, IN CANADA. They said too that they repair pretty much anything, something I can't say I've ever seen anywhere else. Good to know for all the crap we buy off shore that falls apart in no time, saves throwing it away. I now make a point to stop in whenever we are in the area EVERY time. read more
