This convenience store is a true oddity. First of all, it's in an old movie theatre which hasn't even been renovated much; you can see where the screen is at the back of the store, and the crumbling marquee is still out front. It doesn't even really have a front sign, although I give them cleverness points for putting the usual variety storefront ads for Dentyne in the frames that once housed movie posters.
Inside, the High Park Mini Mart is pretty standard, if also a little low on the cleanliness and brightness scale, even for a variety store. It's a bit bigger than average, though, and they have a reasonable selection of movies for rent as well. read more
