I have zero interest in center pieces, decorations, timelines, flowers. I just wanted it to "look pretty" and for people to have a nice time. Thank goodness for Monica, the owner of Confetti and Glitter Events! I originally found Monica on Thumbtack, and liked how prompt she was in responding to my inquiry. She is also very affordable and reasonable in the pricing of her services. I initially hired her as my venue decorator, but then asked her to also be my Day of Coordinator. (these are 2 different things, so don't hire someone asking them to decorate, but then expecting them to handle your entire day and your entire ceremony and reception). She was flexible with her schedule when it came to meeting, and was prompt in her replies to emails and texts. Monica was very good about writing down the things I liked and didn't like, and was great about expanding on those things to find something that worked for me. She made all of my venue signs, set up and decorated the dessert table and guest table, all centerpieces and my sweetheart table. I didn't have to worry about a thing the entire day and night of my wedding, because I new Monica had everything covered. I was able to have a great time and focus on my guests, and she would guide me along if I needed to do something. I would recommend Monica for any party or event that you need planned. My husband and I were both very happy with her services, and will hire her again if we have anything that needs planning. She is very easy to talk to, and a sweet and professional woman. We were recommended Taylor by our catering company because she used to work at The Lane but now does her own planning & coordination. We ended up doing Taylor's 2 month package which was perfect for us. Our colorful wedding wasn't exactly what Taylor is known for but she still did an amazing job setting up day of and the two months leading up. As we are quite organized and design oriented people we felt a coordinator wouldn't be worth it at first.. but by the time the two month mark hit it was relief having her take over some of the emails and contacting vendors. Sometimes it did seem a little silly asking her to ask someone else a question for us but she did a great job with our many, many questions. By the end I think our email thread was at least 100 emails. My wife and I did not know what to really expect but from the initial video consultation, we were already impressed by her positive, upbeat attitude. Every meeting included detailed spreadsheets and key reminders that kept us all on track for the wedding date. I still remember them saying in our initial meeting how they always want to make the wedding couple a guest at their own wedding, not the hosts, so that they can thoroughly enjoy the night. Lemme tell ya, they 200% made us feel that way! Karen was not the day of coordinator for us; it was Chanelle and Rochelle who are also part of aficial. I cannot thank Chanelle enough for being present, calm, and always checked up on us during the wedding day! She was patient and understanding with some of our family members that could not speak English and she made sure everyone understood their assignments during rehearsal. On the wedding date, she stayed focused and organized via the timeline, especially during the family and friend pictures, as my wife stated she has to join cocktail hour, even for a couple minutes. Both Chanelle and Rochelle made sure we had our desired drinks, we had time to eat, our glasses were always filled, and even saved dessert for us! Kudos for also remembering that I needed 2 portions of a meal :P My wife and I ended up asking Karen to help out with several signs and a custom seating chart that she happily took on and collaborated with us on, implementing our creative thought process towards it as well.
