Classes are once a week, with homework assigned each week with office hours available, as needed. Ms. Lee teaches the younger kids and Dr. Li teachers the older kids, through high school. I think there are other classes taught by other instructors, but for the most part, its Ms. Lee and Dr. Li. They are very well suited for their respective demographics. Ms. Lee is a very knowledgeable and bubbly and very pleasant. She has a lot of energy, and is very good with the kids. But note, she is also strict and keeps the kids focused and on track. I appreciate that. Dr. Li teaches his classes as one would expect from a high school teacher or university lecturer. Especially now during COVID and distance learning, he does it webinar style so its imperative that your kid pays attention and asks questions when they are confused. Both teachers are very good with Math, and you can tell they are very joyous about teaching. Lastly, but also very importantly, want to note that the front office and support staff, including Teacher Assistants are well trained, helpful and reliable. My daughter enjoys math and I'm grateful that there is a place she can go and learn more math with kids who enjoy it, too.

The teachers seem to be just well-educated parents, not professional educators. My child has expressed feeling unwelcome and excluded by the other students. She describes the environment as one dominated by "rich kids who are stuck up and fake." The school claims to be anti-bullying and inclusive, but my child and many other kids, especially international students, feel left out . I transferred my child here hoping for a better environment since the last school caused significant anxiety, fear, and even panic attacks. Unfortunately, it's become clear that this was not the right fit. Now, I'm considering pulling them out.

I don't want to see teachers' hard work and devotion to be erased by all these negative reviews. This new school does not have a lot of resources like Irvine Unified School District. The facilities at the campus are out of date and the campus is leased from IUSD. The faculty has been trying hard to maintain the school facilities, but it is very challenging. - 2 of 5 star I have been volunteering at my son's classes in the past two semesters, and both English and Mandarin teachers from the 2nd Grade are very passionate about teaching and helping our children. I have heard a similar compliment for all other teachers at different grades. The school only has one PE teacher, who is working hard and carrying a lot of responsibilities for all the kids at school- 4 of 5 star The communication channels between teachers and parents are very clear. Teachers will quickly respond and answer questions or concerns from the parents. - 5 of 5 star Before enrolling at IIA last year, my son has no knowledge about Chinese handwriting. As now, at the end of his 2nd semester, he can do both reading and writing more than 117 Chinese characters. From my observation in the past two semesters, my son was able to complete his homework at school, attending enrichment class for music and art, and playing with his friends after school. As a result, both kids have a solid foundation in math and their writing skills are outstanding. My freshman kid is in pre-calculus right now, and says that class is the easiest of all of the subjects. My 12th grader finished High School Calculus AB and BC (by junior year) getting one A and 3x A+ for those 4 semesters. Because of all of the supplemental math drilling from Baruns, she said calculus, was pretty easy for her. In addition, my eldest kid's writing skills have grown so much through the years while taking various writing classes at Baruns. Baruns has outstanding teachers for writing (among their favs are Stark, Hughes and Jelnick) as well as the math subjects (S. Yoon, et., al). My eldest was able to publish a clinical case report study in a medical journal as a senior in high school. The medical Doctor who reviewed the article prior to publishing, was amazed at her writing process. Much of this development in her writing ability, we attribute to her years spent in supplemental writing classes provided by Baruns. My kids have also benefited from other classes offered such as SAT prep (boot camp), Biology and Chemistry prep. All helpful in allowing my kids to feel comfortable in those classes when taking them in high school. The principal, Ms. Yuri will treat your kids as one of her own, once you are enrolled in any class. She is tenacious, yet loving and will never let your kids slide in to mediocrity, academically. We appreciate all that she has done for our kids and our family.

The majority of my time at Barun consisted of Writing and Math courses throughout elementary, middle, and high school. The preparation and high expectations of success worked excellently to make kids like myself become high achieving especially in the academically competitive city of Irvine. It helped me excel in APPAS, GATE, honors, and bridge exams. In addition, the SAT courses did an amazing job of familiarizing me with the test and preventing test fatigue by having us take constant practice exams. I was very satisfied with my scores and grades throughout my education and I can not thank Barun, specifically Yuri (the lady in charge), enough. Yuri wants the best for her students and this was portrayed through her understanding, caring, yet firm personality. She stresses the importance of learning and this is also representative through the teachers selected for the academy. Barun was different from the other prep centers because of the level of unmatched dedication and involvement that Yuri had in every single student's path. While only my 7 years old son goes to iLearn education, he has not only became the top student in his class, but he also learned how to be a independent student with minimum supervision. And again, he is only 2nd grade. ILearn offers a wide range classes from academic courses such as reading, writing, and math classes at different levels, but also interests/skill courses such as fashion design, cartoon design, public speaking/ debating and robotic courses. My boy started with couple robotic and science classes, and now enrolled into 5 different classes. All the teachers are all amazing! The organization share all the teachers' backgrounds, degrees and working experiences with the parents. All the classes are very creative and carefully designed by individual teachers themselves. I think the owners also have school age kids that all go there, and I believe one of the owner is extremely careful come to hiring teachers because she comes from very high education background herself. With the pandemic, the school only offers online classes for now. I don't know how those teachers keep the kids so engaged during the classes (1.5 hours each), but I definitely see outstanding results. Now, even with his regular elementary classes, he doesn't need any supervision to attend, participate and complete his independent works for distance learning modules. He also scored top 1% in one of the California Math standard test, and reading in 5th grade level. Public speaking is one of his favorite class. I sometimes overhear what they talk about in the class and thinking- wow, those kids are way smarter than me even as a second grader! We'll definitely keep attending iLearn Education. Hands down the best choice from my experience-worth very penny!

We had previously met with 3 fancy academic counselors from Newport Beach but in their first "initial free consultation" they would never actually help you before you sign a contract with them therefore we wouldn't sign with them because we saw in those meetings that they don't know how to address the most basic and elementary question and that is "are you taking the right courses?"
