My son was taking swimming lessons with Rebecca who is a wonderful teacher. Unfortunately there were many times we felt unwelcome do to the general managers rude comments. He was beyond rude and elitist. We felt unwelcome every single time we came to visit. I don't want to go into details, but it is sad how bad our experience was.

He communicates well, point out the things I need to watch out for and taught me some good techniques. I improved a lot since taking lessons from him and I am once again enjoying play tennis with friends and family thanks to Bernard. My wife on the other hand, had never, ever played tennis before, after she start taking lessons from Bernard last Nov, she was able to rally and play games with me after 1 month (of course she practiced a lot too after lessons) . Then she signed up for local leagues early this year and started playing 2.5 and 3.0 matches, which is so much more than she had hoped to be when she first started. Lots of players thought she had played tennis for years. Now my whole family are hooked on tennis. My sister (also a student of Bernard) is having Bernard teaching her two kids. Hopefully one of them will make it to US Open one day :). Overall. I (we) strongly recommend Bernard for any level of tennis, he is versatile, a strong, talented player and simply loves the game. His instruction on STRATEGY and how to predict what your opponent is going to do, how to "build" a point, is unparalleled. He is a joy to be around: always positive, funny when things get a tad quiet, and very understanding & wiiling to go over match results and match prep. Bernard is super-reliable and flexible. He also taught my husband, who was a beginner, and my daughter. He is supremely patient with children. He doesn't just tell every player the same thing - like some tennis pros do. We all have GREAT memories of time spent with Bernard. His enthusiasm for teaching and individualized approach are the reasons I and my husband continue to play, years after Bernard moved from our area. Try him out - you can't go wrong.

While I'm not a member, I have played many matches at this club over the years. And next to my…read moretennis club (Harbor Point), this is probably one of my favorite places to play in Marin. It's just a charming, off-the-beaten-path setting. Yet it's still close enough to downtown Mill Valley. The weather's always sunny. It never gets too windy. The courts are all well-maintained. The members are very Marin (but without the snooty attitude that you find at other clubs). They have a very cozy/casual clubhouse, complete with a full bar, kitchen, TV room, and ping pong table. It looks more like a camp clubhouse from the 70s. But that's kind of its charm. They have plenty of couches by the windows so you can watch matches on their two center courts while nursing a beer. Since it's a private club, they don't allow outside guests to purchase drinks (unless they're purchased by a member). I thought that was a bit strange. I even offered to pay cash, but they couldn't do it. However, for some reason, it was ok for me to pay by credit card (you figure that one out). That being said, the lady working the bar was very sweet and poured a tasty margarita. All in all, Mill Valley Tennis Club is a lovely addition to Marin County's recreational community, and I look forward to playing there again soon.

I can't say enough about the Swim Staff! These young people go out of their way to help these kids…read moredevelop as swimmers and as good people in general! They are kind, always aware of what their students are doing & always use the kindest and most appropriate voices! They get kids! They even deal well with less than appropriately behaving parents!!!! Britteny, the Aquatics Coordinator, is phenomenal and ALWAYS present! She is a calm voice in a sea of rambunctious kiddos & parents! I am sure her professionalism is why all the young coaches are so remarkable! The Lifeguards are all very sweet and helpful too! I always feel safe leaving my young child at pool side! The facilities are great! The pools are always warm (particularly in the winter), the dressing areas always attended to & clean! The pool maintenance guy is always there! The parking is a little rough, but not within anyone's control, just get there early! So very happy with everyone at the pool!

During the Coronavirus lockdown, most public parks and tennis courts have been shut down until…read morefurther notice. At many private tennis clubs, you can only play singles (not doubles) with family members or people in your household. Needless to say, I've been missing my favorite sport and mode of exercise. Then a friend introduced me to Granada Park in Corte Madera. Corte Madera residents are allowed to play here if they have a city-granted key to the property. Needless to say, this park has quickly become my tennis "speakeasy." I hadn't played at Granada Park in years, and I was immediately blown away by how pristine and well-maintained the courts were. The nets were fairly new; there were no cracks in the surface; or excess leaves or other schmutz you may typically find on public courts. In fact, this does not feel like a public court at all. It's hidden in the Corte Madera hills, just off Paradise Drive. And it's a hop/skip/and jump away from Granada School. It's like a suburban oasis sheltered by large trees with a spectacular view of Mt. Tamalpais. The only thing missing here is a water fountain (which I can't imagine is allowed anyway these days). So be sure to bring your own water bottle. The park also boasts a picnic area with benches, public grills and the like. Though I don't think those are currently open due to the Coronavirus lockdown either. Like I said, these courts are only accessible to Corte Madera residents with a key. So don't just swing by here expecting to pick up a match. You def gotta know somebody to be able to play here (so I'm very glad that I do!). Until the restrictions ease up on tennis and public parks, I'm gonna keep playing at Granada for as long as it's allowed, or until they kick me off the court.

Absolutely gorgeous area with trails along the Tiburon waterfront…read more I came midday, midweek, and found plenty of free parking. I love that there is a statue of Blackie, so sweet and special! The flowers were beautiful, being mid spring it was California iconic with all the poppies abloom! Twinkle and I enjoyed a very nice stroll, and she met some friendly dogs along the way as well. I cannot wait to come back here many, many times! Bring a jacket, it is chilly with the breeze coming off the water!
