There are many things one can look for in a winery to give it high ratings. Some places have amazing settings. And some places have amazing product. To say V du V has an amazing product is perhaps an understatement. V du V has THE best wine we've tried anywhere thus far on our Spokane wine trek. We tasted many of their wines, including their white blend, pinot rose, malbec (which was a surprisingly different malbec than anywhere else we've been locally), syrah, cabernet franc, and a huge cabernet sauvignon. Each wine was unique in taste, and across the board I was blown away by how aromatic the wines were. It has been a long time where I've encountered a wine that appeals so strongly to the nose. The owners were both friendly and proud of their product, which we've found to be a sign of a great product. Almost unfailingly, the more in tune with the product and the customers, the better the overall quality is. The owners, John and Kirk, nail that on every front. We ended up coming home with the cabernet sauvignon and white blend (which is unlike any white I've ever had in any state or country, to be honest), but I know we will be back. V du V easily makes the short list of places to bring out of town guests to try the best of all the awesome things Spokane has to offer!

Was able to get in, get wine and sit down as quickly as I desired (I was caught up in a fun conversation about the production happening just behind the counter as my tasting was being poured). We arrived an hour before closing, and being unseasonably warm in October, decided to sit on the upper outdoor seats across the parking lot. Adirondack chairs around wooden tables; which the tables are not level being tree stumps, but they are cute. This area looks to get afternoon sun to the west as I could see sun shading towards the direction of the sunset. The local deer were walking up pretty close to nibble on the adjacent plum trees so that was fun to watch and listen to their communication snorts. Excellent friendly Knowledgeable staff. I was invited to come behind the counter and see the fermentation stages being done. We didn't stay more than one round as we had plans for dinner but I will definitely be back.

They are a smaller local winery they immediately excel at making you feel at home and part of the family. They only had 4 wines for tasting purposes when I was there. The rose was the star of the tasting, but they were all beautifully done and interesting. I'm more of a red fan and they won me over with their Rose. I can't wait to see more from them.

We tasted two white wines and two reds. We also got to have a barrel taste. I like the blend of Syrah so I bought a bottle and I bought a wine skin to put it in my luggage. All the wines were reasonably priced compared to some places in California. I found a jacket I really liked it was burgundy and black and they had one left 20% off. Visiting Brendon, Michael or Greg in the tasting room on Greenbluff is worth your time. All the wine is produced locally in Spokane from the most amazing Columbia Basin grapes. Join their wine club for special invitation only releases and specialty vintages. See them about special events, dinners and more in their amazing tasting room. One more thing, Christmas Trees. The Townshends grow amazing Christmas trees, so be sure to visit them late November and early December for wine and a tree.

For 20 dollars, you can get a really thorough tasting of the wines they have to offer. I loved the 100% Merlot and the Cab Sauv. The server was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. You can sit inside or outside so it's really nifty. I also enjoyed the inside because they'll showcase local artists. Loved this Macau painting, but was sad they didn't have a print of it. Come give this place a try!
