Upstairs is a spa type area with salt room and infrared sauna room. I took some time in salt room with an adult canned beverage from bar downstairs.. very relaxing!! Then went back down to bar area where they have food menus and drink menu as well as a variety of fresh smoothies! The staff was very nice and helpful.. answered questions I had and gave suggestions.. hence the salt room lol.. you don't know what's offered if you don't ask! I paid $10 for 45 min in salt room.. they never told us anything about membership.. might be free and pay as you use.. not sure but we enjoyed our visit. Food was pretty good too.. hubby ordered brisket tacos and smoked Mac n cheese which was pretty good! Cook came over get our thoughts on taste he was pretty nice too! Pickle ball, tennis, a state of the art gym, a salt room, an infrared sauna and a refreshment lounge which serves smoothies, snacks and beer along with several TVs in some of the areas. I believe they offer yoga too. They offer different packages for individuals and families. We decided to dump our Planet Fitness membership and join up here instead. It's a clean, uncrowded, non judgmental environment. We look forward to getting back into shape now that we are both retired.

The basketball court was in good shape but definitely don't miss a pass as out of bounds is a pretty steep drop and you're chasing your ball for a while. There is a nice playground here too with a spiral slide. The park is fenced in, which will keep the little ones from wandering off. At the park entrance is an 8 foot tall white obelisk and four plaques that detail the Miracle of Hickory, telling the story of Hickory's historic polio hospital that was here for a time. In 1944, a polio epidemic spread across Western North Carolina. In rapid response, the Hickory community rallied together to construct an emergency hospital to treat polio. The hospital was conceived and built in just 54 hours and experienced one of the lowest mortality rates in the country thanks in part to the revolutionary Kenny method of treatment.
