Had a spring broken on one side of my garage door and so I found these guys on a google search and I'm glad I did!! I scheduled everything through the email service and it was very quick responses! They came out the very next day and the repair man walked me through what needed to be done and what he thought would need replaced in the near future without trying to upsell me extra repairs (which as a single young women happens very often with men) he was respectful and quick took less than an hour! Much more expensive than I was told when I called in. I told the phone sales person that my garage door spring was broken. I asked for an aproximately cost for replacing it. I was told it would cost $200 plus tax so I made the appointment. When the technician arrived, he asked which spring I want and the options were $350 - $500 PLUS the $200. I feel like I was clear about asking for the approximate cost and the sales person was intentionally decietful. I recommend going with another service. read more

Internet search for Overhead Garage brought me to category and instead got ACS. "Rich" showed up and I realized this was not "ODW". His price was outlandish. Went inside and found the actual ODW and their price was cheaper to replace both springs then ACS wanted for just one spring. I should have knew something is wrong when I asked for a quote and they said the guy would give it to me when he arrived. When I declined service, he charged me a "service" call ($100) for the estimate. Total BS. I paid it, probably shouldn't have but was glad to get away from these jokers. My opinion is to avoid this outfit and go with ODW. read more

We came home from vacation to a broken garage door- needed a spring replaced. Guys were super responsive- came right over, explained easy pricing and were able to fix same day. Hard to turn down, when we needed to secure our home right away. We took a chance although reviews on Yelp were not great, Facebook reviews were. Guys were straight shooters and the job took under an hour. Four stars instead of five since they offered high performance springs but only had standard ones on hand. And, they do not guarantee labor in writing- but sales guy said if we had a problem in the next 30 days that "of course" they would come back. We are still glad to support local business. read more

No problems with the install. The door stopped working a little over 3 months later. The tech came and fixed it (arm not installed correctly). It took about 10 minutes and they charged me $139 because the warranty doesn't cover service, only parts. Recommend finding a company that stands behind their work. read more

We decided to give ACS a try with a very simple spring replacement. The job should have taken around 1 hour. The service tech was here for almost 8 hours. In that time he had broken the existing torsion cable on one side. Had to replace this which I assumed would be on him. I was wrong in this assumption. This company decided to charge me for the replaced cables and brackets, almost $130 extra. Meanwhile the tech began to get frustrated and not acting professional. When these issues were brought up I was met with poor customer service and a "sorry this is our rock bottom pricing, the tech did the job." I would save yourself the hassle and go with Overhead Door for any of your garage door service needs. read more

These guys are great! My garage door broke and essentially locked my car in the garage as the door was coming off the tracks as a result of my cable coming off the drum/roller. They came out on a Sunday and replaced my cable and fixed the door and made sure the issue was resolved and wouldn't happen again. Dan was great. He knew exactly what the issue was and worked fast to make sure it was fixed properly. The price made sense and there wasn't any excessive fees for it being a weekend. The other door company I called first has yet to call me back and it's been 3 days. Trust me, they are worth the call! read more

We are having a terrible time getting ACS Services of Omaha to come through with their commitments and they are holding our $800 deposit hostage. They were not the cheapest but said they could have our two garage doors and an opener installed within two weeks, its been over 2 months. When we call Louis the receptionist diverts to the accounting department and/or manufacturer, that's when we we find the dead end every time. They refuse to give back the deposit and push back the install date 2 weeks every time we call. We are trying to improve our property before we sell it. We now have to pay another mortgage payment or sell the property without new garage doors even though we paid for them. read more

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER USE THIS SERVICE! IF YOU ARE FINE WITH HAVING YOUR GARAGE DOOR BROKEN FOR WHOLE WEEK, THEN OK YOU CAN USE THIS SERVICE. Friday: I found the garage door broken. One of the sensor got wet so it did not close. Even I was able to find it as a problem. So I assumed very easy fix. Saturday: The technician stopped by and spent 10minutes, to diagnose exactly what I expected. Then charged 233 dollars including the part. The receipt said minimum labor was 79 dollars and par 99 dollars, so it did not add up but I assumed it was due to the second service when he would come back and change it so I was fine with it. He said probably he will stop by on Monday, no later than Tuesday. Wednesday: No call or no news from the technician. My credit card was duly charged for 233 dollars already. I called the company and the person told me that she need to talk to a "scheduling person", and would call me back. I never got call back that day. It was busy day so I forgot to call them back. Thursday: I called them back, and they said someone will stop by tomorrow between 10 and 12. Friday: No one showed up. I called them by 12:10PM, and was told that someone showed up but thought there was nobody so left my house. They DID NOT try to reach me. They did not even call me to make sure I was at the house. I was looking at the window from my study through the whole time so I KNOW that nobody showed up. Now, since I had to take half day off for this, I had to go to work. The company person said they could come back tomorrow (Saturday). I was not happy with this. Then the company person said I can keep the garage door open then the technician would show up and fix it. I thought it could be potentially dangerous when no one was at home but followed their instruction, since I really needed to fix it before the weekend. 5PM - I came back home and still no one showed up. I called the company back, they said the technician had difficulty with "getting around", so they need to come back on Monday. I reminded them they said Saturday before but they said now it's Monday. Now, I was not sure they would show up on Monday! So I canceled their service. SEE THEY CAN REIMBURSE MY CREDIT CARD CHARGE AS FAST AS THEY CHARGED IT WITHOUT ANY SERVICE!!! read more

Told the scheduler what was needed. The service person arrived and didn't even know what type of service was needed. He then charged $58 service charge and quoted $500 to install a new garage door opener. We called another service and were told we only needed an newer motor and sensor, which is what I asked for in the first place. read more

Beware!!!!!!!! They were hired to fix the sqeaks and groans in our garage doors which are only 8 years old. They did unnecessary work, did not give an estimate of what it would cost and, $531 later did nothing to quiet the doors. They do not stand behind their work. read more

Do your homework! Get everything in writing FIRST! -- They charged my account 2 weeks before actually installing my new door. -- The guy who did the initial measurements/assessment was at my home a grand total of about 3 minutes. He screwed up the measurements and assessment, which caused... -- The first install appointment (which I took the day off from work for) couldn't happen because the first guy didn't measure properly, so the installer had the wrong size panels. He also didn't note the fact that I need room for my garage door opener track. The installer said he could make it work, but indicated that he'd have to put in a new header to cover the space for the shorter door. I assumed he'd put in a finished header. Boy, was I wrong. -- The second install appointment -- It took ALL DAY (9:30am to 4:30pm). The New Header that the installer put in was actually three 2x4's stacked on top of each other, and the bottom 2x4 is warped, so my header is bowed downward in the middle. I asked him if he was going to finish it - and he said, "We don't do that". So now I have to pay someone to finish the crappy header he installed. SUMMARY: They made sure to pay themselves WAY ahead of the install. They are horrible at communication (I had to call them twice in order to schedule the initial install and the 2nd install, even though they told me they'd call me - they never did). They didn't tell me till the day of the 2nd install attempt that they were going to install an unfinished header - and ONLY after I no longer had a choice about it (because they'd already ripped out my original door). When I brought all of this to their attention (including the warped and unfinished header), they really didn't seem to care. To their credit, they did give me two free door adjustments (on per year for two years), which I do appreciate. But I would have been MUCH happier if they'd done what a professional company SHOULD do: 1) Do a proper and complete onsite assessment and THEN a bid. 2) Come prepared during the FIRST install appointment (cost me a day of pay) 3) If special work MUST be done, inform me BEFORE doing any work so that I can decide if I want to pay someone else to finish their work (the header). 4) And then - AFTER the install, and AFTER I'm satisfied, charge my account. It was easy to see that their primary focus was to get my money. It's sad that businesses like this still exist. =============================================== ADDENDUM: Shortly after I posted this review, I received a phone call from Heather of their Marketing Department who offered to "...make it right." She said she'd send someone over to put a finishing board over the bowed header so that it would look finished. This offer, though, was contingent on my agreement to remove my review if I was satisfied with the work. I agreed. TODAY: They sent the same guy to do the finishing work that thought it was completely OK to install a bowed 2x4 on my header. Mistake #1. I left the guy alone so he wouldn't be nervous with me hovering over him. I figured I'd give him the benefit of the significant-doubt. He later knocked on my door and said he was done. What do I find? A finishing board that is squarely cut and gorgeously flush across the left side. Awesome. Then when you look on the right side, there's a big tapered gap along the top, and the right cut is anything but square. It's chipped and ragged and looks horrible. Mistake #2. When I bring this to the attention of the installer, I get the same clueless look he gave me during my original install, and he offered, "Well, I can bring some touch-up paint later today." Mistake #3. Unbelievable!! I say again -- Stay away from this company if you need quality work done. A customer should never have to explain what "quality" or "integrity" mean, and DEFINITELY shouldn't have to explain it multiple times. END: I received a call from Heather again shortly after I returned to work, asking me how I felt. Yes - she definitely heard how I felt. I informed her that they can keep the "2 free Tune-ups" they offered because I don't want them back at my house for anything! (BTW - They told me the 2 tune-ups had a combined value of nearly $200, but I see now they have a coupon on their site for a free tune-up, and in it, it says the value of a tune-up is $39.95. UNHAPPY! I called for service on my garage door that had a broken keypad. There was never a mention of a service fee on the initial phone call. I am happy to pay for charges agreed to, but I feel this was an unfair charge because I was never notified of it. I called to dispute the charge and the business then sent my invoice to a collections agency. It wasn't worth the hassle to fight it further, but I do NOT appreciate hidden fees. This company seems dishonest to me based on this experience. read more

BUYER BEWARE! After having a technician come to check our my garage door and verbally quote me a price on a new opener, I agreed to have the new opener installed. The final price was $150 higher than the verbal quote. The technician admitted that the price he gave could be confusing, but that is what the total was. I paid the bill and immediately called the manager Teresa and sent her a copy of the invoice and recounted the incident, who then promised to call me back that day. Then promised to call me back for the next three days- which never happened. After my check cleared she emailed me that even though the technician admitted to her that he made an error, they were not going to refund me the $109 difference. When I asked to speak with the owner I was denied. Before me they had 17 other outstanding better business bureau claims for similar shady business practices. Great service. Came on a Saturday after the big spring broke over the top of my garage door. Great service, realiable. Gave me a two hour window when someone would be at my house. Also called 30 minutes before to let me know they were on their way. No extra cost with weekend service. I also did not have to arrange to take time off work to get this fixed during the week. read more
