Best deck in the Whiteshell. Friendly staff and consistently good food. Open all year round a real bonus for winter cottagers.

Great restaurant, open throughout the whole year. They also still operated with take out and pick up during restrictions.

In my opinion, this is likely one of the better hotels in the area, and it is a landmark as well at the waterfront, so I figured it may have a better standard than some of the others. Since I have never stayed anywhere else in Kenora, I am not sure if that is true. But I will talk about the good and the bad with my stay. The Bad ------------- There was two beds in the room, and when I sat on the first one, the springs were gone. I sunk like a stone, and the springs made a very loud protest. I crossed my fingers and thankfully when I sat on the second bed, it was perfectly fine. The shower had very little temperature control. When I had the shower's hot water tank cranked on high, it only came out warm. It wasnt cold and my showers were confortable, but I couldnt add more heat. Room service did not show up every day. Matter of fact, then showed up once. By showed up, they asked me in the hall on my way out for DINNER if I required service. I said yes. The other days -- no service at all. The Good -------------- The staff were very courteous. I ran into nothing but nice people. The pool is gorgeous. Its on the top floor of the hotel with a stunning view of the lake. The restaurant was very good (but pricey for Kenora). Regardless I ate there once, sometimes twice a day, because the food was consistently good, and the view of the lake was outstanding. The rate was fair. I paid $104 a night, which i thought was an awesome rate for the location.

I started my meal with The Cornerstone Salad (mixed greens, strawberries, red onions, feta, candied pecans, signature strawberry balsamic vinaigrette). I was blown away by this salad. The greens were fresh, the strawberries were ripe, sweet and plentiful, the candied pecans were crunchy, and the signature strawberry balsamic vinaigrette brought all the flavors together perfectly. It was a lovely light and refreshing salad. For my main I ordered the Chicken Bacon Mushroom Carbonara (fettuccine, roasted chicken breast, applewood smoked bacon, sauteed creminis, garlic Back Oven sourdough). This dish was so rich and decadent - a heart attack on a plate - but delicious! The flavor of the sauteed creminis was enhanced by the creamy sauce, and the smoked bacon added a nice overall touch. Service was OK; I did takeout and it took much longer for the food to be ready than originally promised, but the wait was worth it. I also absolutely loved how all the takeout packaging was eco-friendly, no plastic at all! Street parking available. TLDR; good food, eco-friendly takeout packaging, highly recommended

There was a sign on the door that said no in-house seating, so we went inside to see if we can get some takeout. The cashier was new and was having some difficulty taking the order. My wife ordered a pizza, half cheese, half onions and black olives, some cheesy bread, and some other kind of carbonara bread and an order of chicken wings. We waited about 35-40 minutes, and the place was completely empty, they came out with like four small boxes. Got outside sat down and food was cold, in about 35 minutes later we all had terrible diarrhea and we had to stop about five times along the highway at each rest stop to go to the bathroom. We were so disappointed I'm so sick and it was really really expensive. I actually tipped the girl that took my order because I felt bad for her because she was having such a hard time taking my order. So I'm from New York and I've also eaten a lot of pizza in both Boston and New York and I can tell you what this pizza is nothing like the pizza you get in those two places, Because in New York or Boston, this place would not last one week. If you ever go to any restaurant, did you get cold food? Never never never eat that food because you're putting your health at risk. I'm thinking about calling the health department and sending the rest of that food. We didn't eat so they can have it analyzed. I'm also going to call the restaurant and try and get a refund. I'm shocked as I've worked, in the food industry for 10 years, and I couldn't imagine serving that food to someone. Big waste of time and big waste of money, and very very ill avoid at all costs.
