One of the largest markets in the South East it's so popular that they actually run coach trips here! The market is mixed and contains stalls ranging from clothing through meat, vegetables through CDs. Some stalls, such as the CD stall outside Debenhams or Peter the Pleater's blind stall have been there for years. Others are newer. The market stands on a cobbled area and is fringed by the shops and, more recently, some living accommodation. The ancient St Edwards church provides a focal point and gives the whole area a rather historic feel. Market days are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with the market place being used for car parking outside these times. Expect the market to be operational before 9am and to close up around 4pm or later if trade is good. There's an Eastend buzz about the place but it's not what it used to be!

But since the Post office has moved there seems to be alot less people in the shop as the location isnt the best as its set away from the rest of the shops. But its a great shop stocking all newspapers, magazines, drinks snacks and cigarettes of course which not many places in town stock. Its recently been referbished and looks lovely inside and out. the staff are always happy and cheerful.

Browse through the books , buy your fare ..sit near the riverside(its located very close to the river medway) and read your book. Books are easy to find as there are clearly categorised , but not every book can be found. There is a section for some children's toys too.

It has a wide variety of shops and the best way I can describe it is it's like the old fashion independent toy shops. They sell high end toys as well as cheap and chearful plastic ones that are great for holidays. They also have a great selection of puzzles which is something that is hard to find nowdays. They also have some great bargains in there so I would definately recommend a visit. Parking around this area is difficult but there are some large car parks in town to choose from. It's just a ten minute walk at the most. The service in the shop is very friendly. They have been trading for many years and know how to treat customers well.
