Tyler was the DJ for my wedding. We pre-paid for the highest package which included him filming the ceremony and reception as well as playing music. He was difficult to contact and work with leading up to the reception. However, on the actual wedding day, he was a good DJ and seemed to make a great video... Unfortunately, several months later my wife and I are still waiting for the video. He has resumed his poor and unprofessional service and has not responded to my wife or mine attempts at communication via phone, email or texts. I would recommend a different DJ service for your wedding. Tyler's terrible professionalism far outweighs his good performance at the wedding reception. Based on other reviews, I am not the only one who has had this problem. read more

Very disappointed. We contracted Hey Mr DJ to play music at our wedding. We were in communication on and off with Tyler, who seemed to have trouble returning our calls and emails promptly, unless a payment was needed. Tyler sent us a bunch of garbage paperwork asking for our whole family history and all this other crap so they can tell "your love story" at the wedding, which was never brought up. We filled it out anyways, big waste of time. Fast forward to one week before our wedding, and Tyler will not return our calls or emails. I'm talking at least a dozen voicemails. Tyler finally calls us back the day before our wedding and says sorry, he was on vacation and forgot his phone., and some guy named Dylan is going to be our DJ and gives us his phone number. We spoke briefly over the phone with Dylan and told him we wanted country and classic rock music, which he assured us he "was very good at playing" Finally at the wedding, Dylan shows up, he looks about 16 years old, and he brought a date. He seemed somewhat socially awkward, and kept bugging us about what the schedule was supposed to be. Sure would have been nice if we could have dealt with all that beforehand instead of during our wedding, but we didn't even know he was going to be our DJ until the day before. As I saw on another review, Dylan decided it was a good idea during the first dance, father daughter dance etc. to dub out one song and immediately start playing the next one with no break or announcement. I told him to knock it off, so he provided a ten second break between the bride/father and groom/mother dances. Awesome. The music selection got progressively worse as the night went on. He initially said that he would take any requests, but did not have popular country artists when we requested songs by them. Keep in mind we asked for only country and classic rock, so Dylan played such hits as "Shout", "Gangnam Style", "YMCA", and "Pour Some Sugar on Me". I can't imagine that the wedding would have been any worse if we just had a fried hook up their iPod and put it on shuffle. I would not recommend this service to anyone, and feel pity for anyone who gets stuck using them. read more

Hands down the best DJ company in Montana, these guys have great music selection and when needed will bring the energy to make the party. I have been lucky enough to spend many of drunken nights on the dance floor in many different places and I always have a good time. Tyler smith will take your money, play bad music at your wedding, and you will never hear from him or get your photo montage!!! Do not book with guy! Got a F from the BBB! He is a sick person! My husband and I were excited about our wedding day, and were very pleased with the wedding day service that we received from Hey Mr. DJ. However, almost 1 year after our wedding, we have still not gotten our wedding footage, even after numerous attempts trying to contact him. Hey Mr DJ was at my wedding 3 years ago, while they are great for the music, the professionalism is disturbing. 3 years later and I still have not received my wedding video, which was paid for upfront. Have people ask me about his services and it is disappointing to me to have to steer them in another direction. read more

Unprofessional. Spoke with the owner to hire him for my wedding. He said he was available and would put us on the calendar. I asked him to send us a contract and references so we could move forward. Never happened. Then I tried to contact him on his cell, home phone, email and even texting with absolutely no replies over the course of 1.5 months. In the end I had to hire another DJ and pay a premium due to the short notice and for him to rearrange his schedule. Avoid this company like the plague as I have heard of others with similar experiences. read more
