Reviews With Photos - Hesperia Library

I decided to get a library card at Hesperia Library. I called to verify what is needed to get a library card. I was prepared the next day and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Beverly facilitated my card. The library is Spacious and lots of new books. Also, it's a quiet library, which it should be but other libraries struggle to keep the noise down. i have to say it was a very positive experience and I plan to return.

I usually have had great experiences at the Hesperia library but not this last month it has been a hassle. I got a email about a damaged book and so I went in to see what it was all about that same day I got the email. The guy working Showed me the book and I told him I didn't do it. It was a page that had been ripped and taped. He told me that I needed to talk to the branch manager to get it taken off my account. Of course the manger wasn't there, so I went the next week and she wasn't there again and so I went the next week which is today, and she was finally there. Now before I came today I even brought books that I found that were ripped or taped because I said I better go through all the books I have and make sure they aren't damaged, so I don't get charges for those. I Found books damaged so I brought those in to show her. She calls me over and asks what is the problem. So I told her I didn't do it and I wanted the charge off my account. The whole time she was making me feel like I did it!! She said that the lady who checked them out to me usually checks every page for damages and I said obviously not because I didn't do this and she checked it out to me! I even showed her the books I brought that were also damaged that I found and she blamed me for those too!! I'm almost 30 years old I could pay for a dang book if I damaged it! In this case I didnt do it and I don't like being charged for something I didn't do. So after going back and fourth with her she said I had a good history and I've been a library card holder for awhile, So just this once she was going to waive the fee! It still rubs me the wrong way because she's still putting the blame on me!! She needs to talk to her employees to check the books better when checking them out! Shame on Hesperia library! Now, I will start make the person working check every page and I will doublecheck too! I will be that annoying customer! It also is a lesson learned I should check the books before I check them out but also I think it is the workers job since they get paid to do it. Also the screen shot is from their website and it says nowhere on there that it's the customers responsibility to check the books for damage before checking them out.

The view outside the Hesperia library is incredible on a clear day

Awesome local library with private study rooms, professional staff, and reading programs for students. I prefer the facilities here to the Victorville branch by far. The parking lot is spacious. I've never had an issue parking here. It's next door to Hesperia City Hall and it's always struck me as a safe area. It's on Seventh right near Main Street and close to all the big shopping and eating spots in Hesperia. I don't live in Hesperia, but maybe you do and that might be a bit more relevant for you It's great that the San Bernardino County library system all operates off one card and you can go to all the libraries the county offers and you can see how awesome the gems are.

Friendly and helpful staff. Cleaner than AV Library and in a safer location for families. Best Used book section.

Everything was going smoothly until the clerk requested a document that wasn't listed online. Ok maybe it was and I just didn't see it. oops. Well no problem, I made a phone call and worked that out. After getting that document. I was hit with another surprise. Although it states if you are a nonprofit organization with 501c3 status the fee is $0, I had to pay a one time fee of $46 dollars. It wasn't a lot of money so it was no problem. Like they say, nothing in life is free. Overall I had a wonderful experience. I was happy that I received what I came for. The female clerk at the front entrance was very nice and showed me where I needed to go. The female clerk that helped me was very friendly, informative and patient. There were no long lines. The line actually moved quickly. Ohhhhh, before I left, I went to use the ladies room and I was shocked but impressed by something that i thought was amazing. All my germofobes will understand what I'm talking about. lol When i was exciting the ladies room I noticed that they have a handle on the door for people to use their arm to open the door so you won't have to touch the handle. That was cool. I wish every public restroom had that. I'm actually looking to invest in one for my business. Thanks HCH for giving me that idea. See you next year at renewal time.

My daughter was taking a couple courses at VVC this past summer. I ended up checking out this campus on her first day. General parking is $2 per day which isn't too bad. If you can apply for their free interim parking pass, then do so because it will save you some money... you'll get a temporary pass until you receive a physical parking decal. Their student services building is fantastic... place for students to obtain assistance on whatever inquiries or issues they may have... met a few wonderful staff. Their library is very clean and organized as it should be... two floors of books and references... their staff is amazing. I met a couple sweet ladies... Sueann and April... thank you so much for all your help that day on setting up my daughter with the Cares Act program for books and supplies. I appreciate you both. Their bookstore is of good size, but they seem to be out of inventory most of the time... can't seem to have books and school supplies in stock for long. They have their Desert Rock Cafe, but it was closed when I was there so didn't get a chance to check it out. They also have Food Pantry set up on campus to provide short-term food relief, free to their VVC students... my daughter was able to take advantage of this program... thank you! VVC also has a really nice man-made lake where all the ducks hang out. Love them ducks! Just a lovely campus overall. Every time I call the campus for information, their staff is very friendly, pleasant, and helpful in every way. After high school, I am grateful my daughter will be finishing her general education courses at VVC before transferring to a four year college. Thank you VVC and all the staff and professors for your service!

They told her she's not able to enroll due to no classes available,. We asked what about the next semester she said we won't have anything open then , we asked what about after that she said, we won't have anything available for a while. She then said you have to apply, which my daughter had all information on hand she then proceeded to say, well you need to apply for FAFSA and you need your parents information well like I said everything was already done . It's so disappointing how their answers are basically we can't help you. Thank god for other colleges that do help you and will help with the process. I have no idea how this place is running it's so foreign to me . I will take my daughter Down the hill to attend college. That's where we come from anyways i just never seen anything like this. A waste of time . Don't bother with this collage there are many others that' are really good and helpful.

Upon entering, I noticed there were no toilet seat covers available. I improvised by placing toilet paper on the seat before using the restroom. Afterward, I went to wash my hands and was surprised to find that there was no soap and no paper towels available. Concerned about the sanitation issue, I went to Window 4 at approximately 1:10 PM and politely asked who I should contact regarding the missing soap and paper towels. The employee appeared annoyed and responded that there was nothing they could do because an outside vendor was responsible for replacing those supplies. I explained that I needed to wash my hands and asked what public health officials would think about a restroom without soap or paper towels. The employee then stated, in an aggressive tone, that I was welcome to contact them. I was caught off guard and disappointed by both the lack of restroom supplies and the response I received. I then requested to speak with a manager. When I explained the situation to the employee at the front entrance, she appeared to laugh and gave the impression that this was a recurring issue that was rarely addressed. After speaking with the manager, she promptly visited the restroom and provided a portable hand soap dispenser and paper towels. My primary concern is the number of people who may have used the restroom and been unable to properly wash their hands due to the lack of soap and paper towels. This creates a significant public health concern and increases the risk of cross-contamination. It is unfortunate that such a basic sanitation issue existed in a public facility serving so many people.

Also during my last semester the school did not provide critical care equipment to practice with such as A lines ect. Also the turn over with teachers is big and we were told by various professors that the pay for them is not good, which was very unprofessional to tell students. Additionally when clinical started you are doing most of them at high desert hospitals and apu students at these hospitals have a bad reputation for not being efficient with there nursing skills due to the lack of teaching at the school. Also there is another school in this area called Victor valley college that has very strong students so most of the hospitals cater towards these students and apu students get pushed to the side. Emails can also take time to be answered due to the director at this campus having to do lots of jobs to overcompensate for the areas staff is lacking. Lastly I want to add not all the professors were terrible and a few there have a true passion for teaching and are very good at what they do.
