This one is particularly good though as it's only 5 mins or so walk from the city's main station, AND it's the only one I've stayed in where you get a free drink voucher! It's beer o'clock! Also, unlike other Ibis(es?) I've stayed in, we didn't need to wait until the official check-in time of 2pm to get access to our room. I'll hedge my bet and give 5 stars. Will update if there are any unexpected shenanigans in the coming hours!

It's relatively new, and features standard and superior rooms, with a small cafe-bar, restaurant, outdoor terrace, and gym. The room was pleasant and well laid out, albeit a little on the compact side. It included a safe, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. The air-conditioning worked well and the beds were comfortable. The headboard features a novel coloured light system in the surround, to help lull you to sleep, if alternating rainbow colours are your thing. The room and bathroom we're spotlessly clean. The reception staff were uniformly delightful and helpful, and the most memorable point of our stay. We had some meals in the bar that were also perfectly good, though we skipped the breakfast (around €15 per person depending on your deal) and the restaurant was reserved for two large parties during our stay. The only reason for not giving five stars was there was some street noise, despite us being given a room on the "quieter" Sandstraße side. On weekends music from the adjacent cafe can be heard until midnight and you still hear some traffic. My partner found the noise tolerable but I'd have found it intrusive, had I not had earplugs. That all said, we had a lovely stay and I'd happily stay there again.

We have access to the Club lounge on the 8th floor. The pool fitness room and spa are on the eighth floor. There was an outdoor terrace on the eighth floor with seating and views of the city. Our executive room was spacious, well equipped with a refrigerator, NESPRESSO, safe, a press for our clothing, two luggage racks, two closets, robes ... The bed was comfortable and the shower had a lot of pressure. We were woken up in the middle of the night by sirens and at7 o'clock in the morning street traffic. We enjoyed our complementary dinner in the restaurant. We started with assorted salads and then had beef, rice and corn. The chocolate and lemon desserts were delicious as were the wines with each course. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our breakfast buffet was expansive with generous selections of pastries, fruits, jams, charcuterie, meats, smoked fish, yogurts, eggs to order. This was just a lovely stay in a very convenient location.

The parking lot is very small and is shared with 2 other hotels. The parking is very tight and the car was blocked in so badly that we couldn't even leave to get dinner so we had to take a taxi. The front desk staff were helpful calling us a taxi. When we went to our room it was very clean but very hot, which was surprising since it was December. I immediately turned on the AC and noticed it was blowing hot air. I called the front desk and no one answered so I went down. I was told the AC unit was broken and someone was onsite to repair, it should be fixed soon. If not, they would give us a fan and show us a trick to unlock the window. We left for a couple hours to have dinner and came back. The room was very warm. The person said it shouldn't be too warm, but said the would bring a fan. When the front desk gentlemen walked in he mentioned how warm it was and apologized. He set up the fan and unlocked the window for us. After this the room was manageable. My friend who had a room on another floor said her room was not as warm either so there was definitely an issue with our room. Other than the hot room and difficulty with the parking the stay was fine. If it had been summer I don't think I would have been able to stay in that room.

Nice big spread, with a coffee machine that grinds the beans and gives you pretty much whatever kind of coffee you want. It starts getting crowded at about 0830, so I'd get here a little earlier. A tram stop is just outside the front door and it was a two-stop tram ride from the main train station. I paid €81 for a nice large room with breakfast included. So for the area it is very reasonable. Check in was super simple. I had booked this place on Booking.com. Although the room is a little modern industrial, it was very comfortable, and the bed was comfortable. Hopefully, if you're staying with a friend in the room, you don't mind the full view shower!
