On Sunday, July 1st I went to the flea market in Hietzing…read more This flea market is situated at the beginning of one of the main Viennese shopping streets and one of the best areas of Vienna, directly after one of the entrances of the Castle of Schoenbrunn. It can be easily reached by U4 Stop Hietzing and the tram no. 60. The pieces offered are really authentic antique (e.g. Biedermeier, Art Nouveau, etc.) With the jewelry you have to be careful, there are only a few pieces that are authentic antique. But there is lots to see and the amount is really great compared to other markets. One thing that is really stupid is that you cannot really see the prices, because they are either not labeled or at the bottom of the pieces. The prices seem to be a little high. Thus when you lift the thing just to know how much it costs or you ask most of the sellers want to force you to buy the stuff!!! - and that is what I hate when I go to a market... The idea is great, and summarizing I must say this is a much better market than the one in the city of Baden, 24km down to the south of Vienna. The location there is a square place, but there are too many stands so you cannot really see and pick out and the prices are far too high. Besides the pieces are most of the time not authentic. This is why I prefer this market. Maybe the location you go to next time???

What an awesome souvenir shop. We were in Vienna twice during our six week European tour and had…read morethe opportunity to come here twice. Very conveniently located right accrss the way from St. Stephens in the Stephansplatz 8. This became my spot for Mozart Kugel (they had every variety you could think of,) magnets and hats. These are the only items I will buy during my souvenir shopping mode. For me to buy, I must be able to do 1 of these three items: - Eat it - wear it on my head - or put it on the side of my fridge They had plenty of items here that all fit this requirement. A few times I had to ask for help and the team members here were extremely cordial to this tourist. I assume that they are that kind and helpful to everyone. I will certainly be stopping here on my next trip bck to Vienna and I hope it's soon. KUDOs to the team at World of Souvenirs

I stopped by with my friend when we were in Vienna for a few days at the beginning of the month, because we were trying to visit shops and restaurants with history and character while we were in the city. The store is beautiful, and their products are really finely crafted and worth the price tags. Unfortunately, the customer service was pretty ... awkward? A store clerk followed us from room to room. It felt like we were being monitored, like she thought we were going to shoplift. I know there are some cultural differences between the US and Austria. Maybe this was her way of being helpful, being nearby in case we had questions or wanted to try something on. Unfortunately, it just made us itchy to get out of the store. We took a walk around but were in and out pretty quickly. Still, worth a stop if you're interesting in buying some traditional Austrian clothing while you're visiting Vienna.

In November 2015, I went shopping at the Hermes store here in Vienna Austria. The store employee…read morethere at that night called one of their security guards to follow me around the store "assuming" I might steal something. I worn very casual clothing that evening but it is very expensive. I personally think to racial profile customers based on their skin color is extremely racist because all the other "white customers" didn't had a security guard followed them around. Why only me? While I was browsing the Hermes boutique I asked the salesperson to see some accessory items and was immediately told that they were really expensive. She didn't showed me anything except criticize that these items were really expensive. Even insisted that there are other stores in the area that are less expensive for the kinds of items I wanted. I began laughing hysterically in disgust at what I am experiencing at one of my most favorite designer stores in the world. I left the Hermes store and walked to the Versace store to buy upwards of over $10,000 in only men's accessories. A few years later I came back to this boutique as I was living in Vienna. I told them of my VIP Hermes account and after they realized it is over several million dollars in purchases in a eight year period. Once they've found out I got a ultra VIP account, they immediately start treating me respectfully as a VIP offer champagne or wine. When I first moved in Vienna, I've brought over my uncle he wanted to see how his nephew is living in Europe. In North Scottsdale Arizona he drives a half million dollar Rolls Royce Phantom and always flys private. I told him that if he comes to this Hermes store they're going to treat you like dirt because you're asian no matter how expensively you dress. After he visit this Hermes boutique location, he was pretty disgusted at the service. My uncle then left to Japan to continue his Hermes shopping. This is probably one of the worst Hermes boutiques I have ever been to in the world. The services here is absolutely unprofessional and disgusting attitudes.

Also, they have the best used trachten (traditional clothes) in the city. My two dirndls cost about 10euro each but much more beautiful ones can be had for under 40. If you are able to find one of the Salzburg-made jackets here in your size... grab it! The tailoring is impeccable and they are sold new downtown for up to 50 times the price! Can't stop my review without mentioning they are supporting an excellent cause.
