I travel on business a lot... and have been using National as my preferred choice…read more Coming to Saskatoon, Shelby greeted me with a smile and assisted me with a vehicle upgrade... due to my membership status. A day later, I got an email inquiring about my rental experience so far. This is a 1st as I never got these before. Well I had to voice my opinion... as I was not impressed with the rental I got. The interior dash was not wiped and was Dusty, coffee stains... plus the windows had smears. I got a reply right away and a phone call. Shelby continued to offer me another vehicle and I picked one... which had to be arranged as it was at another yard. I later figured out she got it from their sister company Enterprise. The switch over was flawless and I really appreciated the quick response to making me happy. Sadly, the new rental also had some garbage... McDonald's cup u dear a seat and sunflower seeds on the front passenger seat. This gives me an idea of how well they go over their return vehicles. The windows and dash was better... so I took some pics and off I went. 1 week later, I am back to return the rental... Shelby is at the counter. Again, the same warm smile and remembering me, my issues and wanting to know how the change of vehicles went. I did share my findings and expressed that it was better than the first. She again apologized which I appreciated, knowing it isn't her fault. She offered me a discount and that again goes to show me... her exceptional customer service. As I went to get her card, knowing I was going to review my experience at this location... she was so grateful that I was going to make a review. I am giving this a 4 star and it really is all Shelby. Keep up the great work and superior custimer satisfaction. This level of service is far and few nowadays. Being an executive overseeing managers who oversee employees on a daily basis, I know that we all love to hear of the front end... how things are going when it's positive... not always just the negative or when shit hits the fan.

I booked Thrifty through Amex travels after booking our trip, when they asked if rental is needed. I figured Amex travels has the time of flight so pick up for car rental would be automatically selected accordingly. I didn't realize I had to select the time of pick up time until after the rental was confirmed. So the night before our flight, I called Thrifty and the guy that answers sounded a bit off because I continuously had to repeat myself (pot head I'm pretty sure). I tell him that our pick up time is scheduled for 11am, but our flight doesn't get in til 9pm. He assures me that it wouldn't be a problem, just give them a call as soon as we get there and they will send a shuttle to come get us, even confirmed that they were open 24 hours. On the day of our trip, I call Thrifty as soon as our flight lands and guess what? They don't have any reservations for us. I was like ok, but you didn't even ask for my name or confirmation number. Nope, no reservation. So I proceeded to tell him about my conversation with the pothead the night before and he tells me that he is the manager and no one told him anything about a delayed pick up so he can't help me, period. Of course I was stunned, I've never had to deal with such lack of customer service, so I just said ok thanks for nothing and hung up. I was tempted to call our flight inc. which covers just this sort of mishap, but it was getting late and my kids were tired so we just decided to try one of the rental counters at the airport. Yay for National! Customer service was on point, and rental car was on site which means no waiting wait for shuttle. We got our rental within 5 min. and paid $5 bucks less then what we were supposed to pay at Thrifty. I highly recommend National for one, they are located on site. And secondly, they have excellent customer service. Yep, planning to give them 5 stars on Yelp. So to make a long story short, DO NOT book Thrifty unless you like dealing with @$$h0le$.

Tried to reserve a type of vehicle only to be told they don't do that, then when we went to pick up…read morethe vehicle there was one on the lot we would rather have had, was told it was reserved for someone else. The vehicle the gave us was FILTHY, like it hadn't been cleaned since the beginning of winter. Fuel/hotel/fast food receipts from past customers, litter strewn under seats, wreaked of cigarette smoke. I ended up having to wash the thing inside and out, the water turned almost black after wiping the seats and touch surfaces down. 10/10 would NOT recommend

I had to meet a friend in southern Sask and was pleasently surprised that Enterprise would let me…read moredrop the car off in Swift Current. When I came in during the morning they did not have a vehicle waiting but put me on a waitlist. An hour later I had a call that they had a vehicle for me and we did the walk around and paperwork. They gave me a cargo van as they didn't have a car which was fine until I realized how much more fuel it takes to drive that thing but I was grateful for having a vehicle. The staff at both Saskatoon and Swift Current were courteous, friendly and helpful and I would recommend Enterprise especially if you miss the greyhound. The one thing I would encourage other people to do is try and do a walkaround and look at the roof. Both myself and the staff member helping me were too short to look at the cargo van roof and I rented the van the morning after a hail storm. Another manager asked me about the damage but I only had the car for 3 hours and there was no storm when I was driving it so I didn't have to cover it. But if you do rent from them make sure you look at the roof especially after a hail storm. Other than that I can fully recommend Enterprise for their price and service.
