I needed a rental car and tried a few of the on-site companies, but I quickly found they were worthless- One took my reservation, then told me they didn't wouldn't have a car for a few hours (then why take my reservation!?); and another had a limited selection and all they could rent was an expensive SUV (even though my reservation was for an intermediate car!). Simply put, I was beyond frustrated. Then I called Budget (3210 East Grimes Street, Harlingen) and spoke to Jason. Unlike the others, he had a multiple options of cars I was looking for, told me exactly where he would pick me up, and would be there in only 5-10 minutes! He was very friendly and easy to speak with, and after the quick drive to their location, he and Michelle worked quickly to get me all setup in their rental. Further, my flight that next day left very early in the morning, and he said he would get there early (5 am!) so the shuttle would be available to take myself and others to the airport! This was a huge relief as I'd have no other way to get to the airport after dropping off my car. This was very generous of him. Jason and Michelle at Budget rental did a great job of making a difficult flight delay for my much easier through their fast response, excellent work quality, and welcoming personality. This is exactly what I look for when purchasing a product or service. I had a confirmed reservation for a late-night pickup at the Harlingen airport. For nearly two full weeks leading up to my trip, I repeatedly called this location -- at different times of day, including the hours I was specifically told to call -- and no one ever answered the phone. Not once. I finally got through to an employee (Carlos) and very clearly explained that my flight landed at midnight and I would need to pick up my rental after hours. I was told -- confidently -- that arrangements would be made and someone would be there. Based on that, I moved forward trusting that commitment. My flight actually landed early, and I arrived at the counter at 11:46 PM -- before my scheduled arrival time -- only to find the location completely closed, locked, and unattended. No note. No instructions. No attempt to honor the reservation. I was standing in an airport late at night with my daughter, with no transportation, no support, and no way to reach anyone -- after spending weeks trying to prevent exactly this situation. I had no choice but to scramble and secure the only vehicle available from another company, which cost me over $100 more than my original reservation and forced me into a larger, unnecessary vehicle. This wasn't a simple inconvenience -- this was a complete breakdown in communication, accountability, and basic customer care. What makes it worse is that I was directly assured this would be handled. That assurance was completely false. I have still not received any response from Enterprise regarding this situation after attempting to contact them numerous times. I would strongly caution anyone relying on this location, especially for late arrivals.

They said there was excessive sand in the car and there was not. The car was taken to the beach only once and my wife and her friends were very careful about tracking sand in the car. The only other driving was to the airport and to the Space-X complex, with a little bit of exploring the area mixed in. We filed a complaint on Budget's Twitter page and they came back agreeing with the local budget office. They are a rip off and are out to get you for any extra dollar they can get. The car had flaws when the women picked it up, such as dirty cupholders and glass broken on a dash gauge. One of the women was in the back seat and commented when they picked the car up that it was dirty back there. I do not recommend this place to rent a car. They are crooks. It's bad enough the on-site management billed us for $287, but it's even worse that Budget's corporate office is supporting them in this lie.

I have been renting at either Avis or Dollar Rental at the McAllen airport cuz I thought I was…read moregetting good deals. Until I bumped into my 2 coworkers who told me they've been renting from this location for the past year or so, and was getting excellent deals. So I decided to change my reservation and go with this one instead, thinking how much better can it get, boy was I wrong. First of, they have the pick up service, which I never thought of to use before. Saved me so much time, hassle, and money, not having to ask people for a ride or park at the airport. Considering the alternate of parking at my job, which is one of the safest places to park your car for long term down here, can't beat it! Now the best part. I made the reservation for the intermediate class I believe, which would get me the Corolla or similar. I called the day before to request the Charger and willing to pay for the upgrade. They told me they do carry the Charger, but can't guarantee that there'd be one when I get there. Understandable. So when I arrived that morning, I was told I could upgrade to the Jetta or......Mustang. I asked to see how much more I would have to pay to get the Mustang, and couldn't believe what I was hearing, barely just about $20 more than I would have paid for the Corolla!!!! So heck yea! how could I say no to that!!! They definitely hook me up with a crap load of deals! I could easily pay double or triple the amount for that Mustang anywhere else. Extremely friendly, useful customer service, with kick ass deals. Wish I would have gone with them long time ago with my numerous trips back and forth here and up North, but better late than never. Enterprise is officially my favorite!

No formation was verbally given.( Here's your agreement, car is located in the back.) When getting into the vehicle it had a full tank of gas. Great... but the vehicle it self was filthy, chipped windshield smelled of smoke and dried stains on the seats. Food crumbs everywhere. Returned to the rental desk to complain but no agents. They had already left. Upon return of vehicle 4 days later. I explained everything to the agent Michelle who was very helpful and said will email you your final bill? Never had that happen either. So my opinion is DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET CAR RENTAL.
