So after a car accident is a harrowing time enough and Enterprise did not make it easier at all. I lost my wallet and was issued a temporary drivers license card from penndot until my actual one came in. Well this, coupled with my passport, wasn't good enough for Enterprise. It's good enough if I get pulled over, it's good enough to get on a plane, it's good enough to rent a car from literally everywhere else, but not good enough for Enterprise! I could understand if I didn't have a passport or any other photo ID on me that matched the card, but I did. So what's the problem. So after waiting in line for a half hour I was told I could not rent a car, super frustrating. And they really had no good reason other than "that's our policy." Well your policy blows and doesn't make any sense. I even called Enterprise corporate who were equally unhelpful. They said basically that each branch makes up their own rules and I'd have to call each individual branch to find out who would accept my (legit, government issued) documentation. Come to find out, a few months prior my sister wasn't allowed to rent a car from them because the address on her license didn't match that on her paperwork, as she had just moved. Who cares??? Enterprise says they have the best customer service but they made a bad situation worse. Thankfully they aren't the only game in town and plenty of other rental car agencies were willing to accept my (legit, government issued) documentation.

I had numerous forms to confirm my identity including credit card, debt card, NY ID and a photo of my passport and green card. I have lived in the U.S for 6 years and rented cars over 30+ times and this is the first time I have been denied. So I double check the PA state law, passport is not required for car rentals. There is 2 reasons: 1. Staff didn't know the company policy, and if they were unsure why did they enforce it so strictly 2. I had numerous appointments I had to cancel due to this branch's negligence.

They said I was too far to pick me up (3.6 miles) so they said they would transfer me to someone else who was closer (3.9 miles). When that didn't happen I called the other place myself (Flourtown) and they didn't have any economy cars so I called back to glenside and was hung up on and the next time I called they said they didn't have any economy cars. I got a great rate -- $149 plus tax for the week for a compact. I'd chosen this Hertz in Glenside because I figured there wouldn't be any pope-related traffic. It turned out I wouldn't be able to pick it up then, so I called (national) Hertz to change the pick up time. They told me that if I waited the day and a half I needed to pick it up they could not honor the rate I had and that the base rate would be $250 plus tax. I told them I'd happily pay over the phone but I couldn't get there and didn't need it. I called the local place, and the manager, Bobby Hernandez, could not have been more helpful. He said he absolutely could honor the rate, and he did. He rented me a powder blue VW bug, which I loved and which was great to drive -- the last two times I've rented from Hertz they've given me really junky cars in the compact category, which they advertise as "Ford Focus or similar." I was about to ditch Hertz, and now I have a new rental place. Thanks1

I was lied to…read moreand deceived into purchasing Enterprise's insurance for the rental when my own insurance already covered the rental car. I don't get into a lot of accidents and have t been in one in years so I wasn't aware of that. My car was in the shop for 14 days so their insurance cost me just about $500 which negates any benefit from having my own insurance cover the rental car with a $500 deductible. The female rep told me that if I didn't purchase their insurance, if any happened to the rental car I'd have to pay for it on my own out of pocket. Those are the words she used. I complained to customer service who got me in contact with a supervisor. As I explained what happened I could tell five minutes into the call that based on his attitude and demeanor on the phone that he wasn't interested in my complaint and had already decided to dismiss it. A day or two later he calls me back with some BS excuse as to why his agent didn't do anything wrong. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH AN ENTERPRISE AGAIN. And I will bad mouth them to anyone who will listen. Consumers must warn and protect each other from predatory businesses like this!!! Do not use Enterprise and especially not this location.

She was attentive & considerate while giving me the time & space needed to get the approval authorization, Keep in mind - this is a small satellite location. Plan ahead, and give the staff some consideration as they juggle multiple responsibilities.
