We did, but not seated in his area. We had Martin and he was great also. The first visit we had reservations and the second one we didn't. I do recommend calling ahead or online booking. The first visit we would not have gotten in and the second visit we barely got a table...think maybe we got a table because they recognized us from before. Items that we ordered were the: Frist Visit: - Lake Perch pan sautéed in butter and served with fries and a side salad. Wow, those tiny little perch filets were awesome. Perfectly cooked, very fresh with absolutely no fishy taste. The fries were very good - crispy and hot. The side salad was very good with a great dressing. - Pan Sautéed Veal with Mushrooms and served with veggies. The veal was browned and the taste was right there. It was tender and needed no extra seasoning at all. The veggies were cooked - not too much but just enough. Second Visit: - Steak - maybe entrecôte - the only one with a peppercorn sauce. We asked for it to be cooked to a medium and it came medium!!! The peppercorn sauce was to die for. We share part of this steak and just kept going back to the sauce. Excellent. I came with fries and veggies. I asked for a very small serving of fries and was accommodated. I also asked if I could have that wonderful side salad as my veggies and was told no. But way into my meal Martin came over and said that I could have the salad. At this time we were both so full that I declined. We were better off. - Penne Pasta with a Spicy Tomato sauce. Weak link of the two visits but hit the spot. The sauce was not spicy at all. The pasta was cooked appropriate. Just couldn't compare with the rest of the food. Highly recommend. Also one should make a booking.

What a gorgeous hotel. This is definitely my favorite hotel in Geneva and it's one of the last of…read morethe privately owned (not big chain) five star grand hotels in the city center. The lobby is small and intimate but fabulous and all done in woods, Italian marble, lots of plush green walls with marble busts, statues and artwork. There's also the famous "Leopard Bar" in the hotel. I booked via AMEX FHR (the hotel is also a member of Leading Hotels of the World) and got a wonderful deal with breakfast and a room upgrade. Try to get a room in the front of the hotel facing the lake because you'll have the most beautiful view of the jet d'eau and the quai. Reception was so kind and actually showed me a couple of rooms. I ended up taking a room that was on the side because I loved the color and the artwork, but I could still see the lake when I looked out the window. All the rooms are different colors and shades and have different themes. Mine had a turquoise hue with a Parisian "can can" theme, original artwork and a chandelier. I also saw a room in the center with a direct view of the fountain that had a nautical royal blue theme. The thing this hotel is really famous for is the high tea at the Windows restaurant. Make a reservation in advance because it's very popular. It's something you can't miss. Try to nab a window seat with a view of the lake. The tiered tea tray is incredible and they make fabulous scones. I actually consumed an entire tier by myself! They also have a wonderful breakfast in Windows restaurant and I highly recommend the fresh crêpes with maple syrup (sirop d'érable). After breakfast, take a walk in front of the hotel to the quai where there is a modern statue for the Empress of Austria, Sisi, who was tragically assassinated nearby in the 19th century. She was staying at the Beau Rivage hotel next door. All in all this is my favorite hotel in the area. You won't be disappointed if you love the classic, grand hotel style. As it's privately owned and a part of the Red Carnation hotel group, it's not completely modernized and sparkling high tech new like some of the other hotels which have lost their character. That's its charm. And it's beautifully run and well managed. After a day the staff all knew me by name, Even the staff that I had not met! I don't know how they do that , but it's very nice

The menu is fairly straightforward French/Swiss cuisine (meat and fish dishes, pasta, and both meat and cheese fondue). We were staying at a hotel near Geneva airport and there were limited food options in walking distance. But in the end we were happy with this choice. We ordered the beefsteak and raclette burger, both of which were really good. The dishes came with fries and a side salad. The salad features the restaurant's curry-infused dressing that was very tasty. Prices are medium for Geneva (28 CHF for the steak, 25CHF for the burger). Definitely worth a stop if you are staying in the Meyrin area.

Glad my guess was right. Wonderfully prepared pasta with a white truffle sauce. Best meal I had in Geneva. A generous amount for a good price. Finished with a Nutella tiramisu, yes you heard that right. This place would be 5-starred had we not found a small piece of glass within the dessert! Otherwise, amazing dining experience.

And a short stay you will have as you can easily experience what Geneva has to offer in one full day. The rooms were nicely furnished with an old world charm, were air-conditioned, and beds comfortable for 2 friends to share. Desk staff were super friendly and helpful. The surrounding neighborhood has its "rougher" parts, especially with brothel occupied Rue de Berne *ahem*, though I never felt leery/ unsafe, more so intrigued, really ;). The easy walk to Geneva Lake and Paquis de Buvette was much convenient, on the other hand. It was a short stroll to reach Old Town as well. Perhaps my feedback would be that the AC and mini bar fridge could have been colder, but my American butt be so high maintenance, therefore they are minor gripes. Super helpful to have a link sent prior to our visit to acquire the free public transit pass for tourists.
