Right after the course I passed successfully both the MedAT and the IMAT and was offered a study place in Medicine att the universities in Gratz and Pavia . I chose to take the course in German and the school team was very supportive and gave me the study materials both in German and English . Even though that all the teachers were native German , I had the chance to had for free also some private tutoring with the school teachers from the English division who instructed me about the English medical terminology in Biology and Anatomy . The teachers are all very professional and responsive , especially Dr. Dirk Andrea who was our Chemistry teacher and teach also at the Free University of Berlin , Dr. Jadranca , and the Physics teacher Dr. Stefan Kirstein who is the Physics teacher and teach as well the Humboldt University of Berlin . The teachers gave us every week , on the top of the regular planned lectures , additional office hours where we could ask questions about the homework and review our credit exams that we got weekly . All material is places in a well organized online system and accessible for us any time , and the teachers were available in between the lesson anytime . The office team help me with the application procedure to the IMAT in Italy , and they also organized at their academy in Berlin the entrance exams for Masaryk University in Czech Rep ans some other entrance exams for more universities in Poland and Slovakia. The classes are located in central Berlin and we were about 17 students in a class so there is personal attention when needed . All in all was good experience and i recommend it if you plan to prepare yourself for medical university entrance exams either in Germany , Austria or abroad . It was really great,…read more especially by supporting me during my studies in preparation for applying to med schools in Poland.  Great experience in which I developed my knowledge in biology, chemistry and physics which helped me to be accepted in university abroad. The academy team  helped us to choose which medical universities to apply for ,  and they helped us also in the application process.  The study period in Berlin Medical Academy was an amazing experience, as this pre-med course has on high level of excellence. The school facilities are student-friendly, comfortable and located in the "heart" of city.   The classes schedule is also very accommodating to the time we need to put into self-studying. The teachers are competent and professional. They use teaching techniques to keep the student engaged in the topics discussed.  The teaching staff were very professional at explaining and presenting lectures. One of the thing I loved the most about it was that we could do the entrance tests to different European Medical Universities with the Academy in Berlin, instead of going to far cities such as Warsaw, Milan, Kaunas etc. I would strongly recommend this course. Great little school where the staff will take care of you…read more I've studied German for months to this school and I can tell that the courses were interesting, my teacher was good and would pay attention to each of us. If you have any problem you can surely find someone at the office to help you. I enjoyed being to that school, I think they put the priority on being here for each of us and to the quality of the services. The bad points would be that it's a little bit expensive and that you cannot find intensive evening courses.

When I first contacted Das Akademie, the support staff responded quickly and were very friendly and supportive in helping me find the best fit for a class. I was only in Berlin for seven weeks and wished to develop more confidence in speaking. I also have mild/moderate hearing loss and felt it might be better to have a one-on-one teacher to work with me. I wear hearing aids and with them most people don't realize I have trouble hearing, but language learning can be more difficult. On my first day, I spent time with the Director at DAS Akademie as he helped to choose a teacher that was a perfect fit. She quickly figured out that although I had learned many individual vocabulary words, I was still having difficulty with pronunciation and sentence structure. Rather than rush through exercises to "cover" material, we spent extra time practicing asking and answering questions so that I felt comfortable actually speaking in public. She was not only very creative in coming up with different ways of helping me practice, she did so in such a positive, energetic and fun way. My seven weeks passed way too fast. Each day that I walked into Das Akademie Berlin I was greeting with big smiles and encouraging words from everyone. Next summer I will likely come back to Berlin and if I do I will definitely be coming back. Everyone from the Director, to the teachers and all of the support staff are wonderful.

Speakeasy was recommended to us by a couple of my husband's coworkers, who had a great experience…read morewith one of Speakeasy's evening German A1.1 classes. My personal experience started with a couple of weeks worth of 1:1 German language lessons with one of new tutors, a woman to moved to Berlin to pursue a Master's degree in teaching foreign languages. She was diligent in teaching me some German that I wouldn't necessarily learn in my classes for at least a month or so, but would be useful for getting around. I then took the intensive A1.1 and A1.2 level courses for a couple of months, which were the equivalent of perhaps a year of high school German. The format of the classes includes lecturing, role-playing, practicing verbally with classmates, and the more traditional workbook exercises. German got difficult quickly, so I started taking the A2.1 evening courses as a way to give myself time to really digest the language. Same format as the daytime intensive courses, but it took a few months to get through the same material. PRO-TIPS: + If you're planning on taking intensive courses during the summer, do yourself a favor and register before the 20th. Not only do you get a €5 discount off the course, but you'll actually get the course you want. I made the mistake of not doing this and lost my space in a class with the best instructor I had. + My favorite instructor was Marten (sp?), one of the instructors for the intensive daytime course. While some of the teachers go by the textbooks (boring!), Marten was great about giving short lectures that gave us just enough information to practice whichever concept was the lesson for the hour. I loved how he gave us the "Legos" and encouraged us to build sentences with them. + While the textbook and workbook total to around €20 per course (a reasonable cost), there are some cash-strapped folks that might appreciate that you can actually borrow the books by paying the purchase price and just making sure you erase all your answers before returning the materials at the end of the course. As long as the books don't have any visible marks, you get your money back. There are many language school options in Berlin, but I felt like I really got a decent exposure to German for a reasonable price.

Intensive courses (4 weeks 400€; 8 weeks 710€) are very good value given the quality and care of the instruction and the amount of time spent in the classroom. Classes are small (4-6 students) and provide plenty of opportunities to practice speaking German.

I think it's a shame that the only review for the school is so negative…read more I graduated from MASB, 6 months ago and had a job at Heimat Berlin, one of the best agencies in Germany, even before graduating. There is a variety of classes to learn from and teachers from all sorts fo agencies. No place is perfect and even if the curriculum isn't always perfect, overall it was a very rewarding experience and worth the money. The classes and internships make you stand out in the advertising world, it's up to you how much you put into it.

In the time I've spent at Transmitter, I've worked with four different teachers, and they've all been excellent--very nice, well prepared, helpful--and just all around interesting people as well! It is obvious that the people who work at Transmitter really care about the students and helping them learn. Besides being attentive and welcoming, they also do things like host regular outings in the city (like gallery visits, bar nights, conversation nights, etc.) On top of all this, I've also found that courses here are not as expensive as other places. Who could argue with that?

I was really uncertain if signing up for a language course was going to be the best method of refreshing my knowledge. Turns out, it has been! I'm impressed on a daily basis with how flexible Hanno, and the rest of the Transmitter team, is in dealing with students with a very wide range of German experience. Everyone joining these courses has their own background with German, and yet the classes work and we make progress. It's difficult to learn German in a place like Berlin, since it's so easy to get by without speaking it. The Transmitter team definitely takes that into account, and through the small class sizes, frequent partner and team activities, as well as encouragement to use German outside of classes, everyone has been making a lot of really amazing progress. Glad I'm spending these two months with these folks!!
