I retained attorneys Tiffany Andrews and Melissa Cantu for my family law matter after my daughter…read morewas born. At the time, my daughter was hospitalized, and I was in a very vulnerable and overwhelmed situation. I had paid the required retainer, but I was repeatedly contacted about additional payments and was pressured to continue paying substantial legal fees. Because I was unfamiliar with the legal process and did not know what other options were available to me, I continued with the representation. Throughout the years they represented me, I questioned several charges on my account that I did not understand or believed were for work that had not been performed. On multiple occasions, Melissa Cantu credited my account after I raised billing concerns. One of my biggest concerns was how the case was handled. After my former spouse and I began communicating and working toward agreements on our own, I felt that I was repeatedly encouraged to continue fighting and pursuing disputes rather than resolving matters when possible. In my experience, this made an already difficult divorce more contentious and increased the amount of time and money I spent on the case. As a single mother dealing with a family law matter during an extremely vulnerable period of my life, I felt that my circumstances and lack of legal knowledge left me particularly vulnerable to pressure regarding legal fees and continuing litigation. My experience left me feeling that I was not being given enough emphasis on resolving matters efficiently when agreements were possible. After the representation ended, I attempted to resolve the remaining fee dispute directly with the office. We mutually discussed and agreed on $7,000 as the amount to resolve the matter, excluding late fees, and I understood this reflected a significant reduction. Based on that agreement, I removed reviews I had previously posted about my experience. After I later emailed to clarify the agreement and the amount being held in the trust account, communication regarding the agreement stopped, and late fees continued to accrue despite my attempts to resolve the issue. I also have concerns about the billing and handling of my case. For example, I questioned charges for periods when my former spouse's attorney was reportedly on medical leave. I was also frequently provided documents shortly before hearings and had very little time to review or understand them, despite repeatedly explaining this concern. I also recently discovered that an FL-141 form I completed and provided to the attorneys may not have been filed. I relied on my attorneys to handle the necessary filings in my case, so this was particularly concerning to me. Overall, my experience left me with serious concerns about billing, communication, case management, and whether the legal strategy being recommended was actually helping me resolve my divorce efficiently. I believe my divorce became more difficult and expensive than it needed to be. I am attaching a screenshot that provides additional context regarding the initial agreement.

The Best Family Law Attorney You Could Ask For…read more Juliana is truly an extraordinary attorney and person. From the very beginning, she believed in me and treated me with respect and compassion during one of the most stressful and emotional times of my life. She is thoughtful, thorough, and incredibly well-spoken. Unlike many attorneys in family law, who can sometimes become hardened or impatient with the tears, fears, and high emotions, Juliana shows remarkable patience and understanding. She never makes me feel rushed, and she takes the time to truly hear me out and understand my concerns. What stands out most about Juliana is her ability to handle even the most difficult personalities with grace. My ex has always been challenging to deal with, but Juliana knew exactly how to approach the situation and was able to negotiate firmly yet fairly. She secured exactly the outcome I had been hoping for--something I never thought would be possible. The difference this has made in my life cannot be overstated. Because she is on retainer, my ex finally has boundaries he must respect. That shift alone has greatly improved my quality of life. For the first time in a very long time, I feel like I can breathe. I have the time, space, and emotional security to focus on what matters most: building the relationship I am meant to have with my child. With Juliana's help, we are finally beginning the healing process that I thought might never come. Juliana is not only a skilled attorney but also a genuinely good person. She brings humanity, empathy, and strength into a process that often feels cold and overwhelming. She has made my life better in countless ways, and I am so grateful to have her by my side. If you are looking for someone who will advocate for you with intelligence, patience, and heart, Juliana is the one. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Most negative reviews come from clients who lost their case. This is not one of those situations…read more After being transferred to Ms. Stowell, I spent approximately 18 months under her representation with little to no substantive progress made on my case. Communication became minimal, I was repeatedly asked to resubmit information that had already been provided, and key issues, especially custody, were never meaningfully advanced. This ultimately resulted in roughly two years of delay in securing an updated custody agreement that proved to be in the best interest of my children and myself. I was also encouraged to consider a settlement that was not in my best interest and would have increased my financial burden. After my case was finalized, I took the time to carefully review my experience. My priority with my new representation was seeing the divorce through to completion, not raising disputes mid-process with this firm & Ms. Stowell. After my case was completely wrapped, I then reached out to Ms. Stowell in good faith to address these concerns and her performance directly and in private. The response from the firm focused only on a 10-day billing dispute window and did not address the substance of the issues raised. The contrast after switching attorneys was immediate. Within weeks, my new counsel moved the case forward and achieved a significantly more favorable outcome. The financial settlement was more than double the prior proposals, and the matter was resolved more efficiently and at nearly half the cost. Most importantly, custody was prioritized and resolved within a few months of the transition. This stood in clear contrast to the repeated delays I had previously been given, where I was consistently told action was only a few months away, yet no progress was made. I would also encourage anyone considering Ms. Stowell to look closely at the substance and timing of her reviews across platforms. In my experience, many are dated, clustered, or very general, and do not reflect the level of detail or outcomes that matter in a case like this. Based on my experience and the clear difference in results after changing counsel,I do not recommend this firm or Ms. Stowell.. Beyond the financial outcome, the delay in addressing custody had a meaningful impact on my family, as it prolonged a situation that could have been resolved much earlier with appropriate action.
