Their security is fairly friendly and no long lines to worry about. Once you pass thru security they have some vending machines for snacks, drinks and coffee that take coins and credit cards.

Linköping City Airport... Inserting bummed emoji now: You…read morecouldn't be any smaller. Really. I know there is no need for Linköping to have a big fancy airport. But even though I do like little airports (no big lines, passing through security easily, cheap flights etc.), I was not too happy to find out that the baggage claim area only had 2 shared restrooms for males and females. Maybe I just happened to be in a plane with passengers that - just like me - didn't bother to use the restroom in the aircraft and rather waited to go once we landed. Help haha! Securing your spot in line in front of the restroom, while keeping an eye on the baggage carousel was not fun. Plus there is only one sliding door between the baggage claim area and the arrival gate. So every time a person leaves the baggage claim area, the ones whom are picking you up can see you standing in line at the baggage carousel, the restroom, or both. Luckily the Swedes are the nicest people ever and we all laughed about the fact that almost everyone apparently needed to use the restroom. Upon departure everything was perfect. Enough restrooms. Check! A small souvenir shop and cafe. And a small relaxing area with free wifi.

Staff is friendly and very helpful. The cheapest double rooms are smallish but large enough with everything you need, everything is nice and clean. We would have preferred a double bed over the twin beds that are apparently the hotel standard, but that all faded away when we experienced the best hotel breakfast I have ever had. The selection of dairy, fruit, squeeze-your-own orange juice, bread, charcuterie and cereal is impressive, you can make your own waffles, waiters are polite and friendly. Free Wi-Fi everywhere, plus sauna and roof spa (which we did not try). Noon checkout without extra fee. Would definitely visit again!

Since we were visiting my boyfriends mother on the same weekend as the American Mother's Day we…read morethought we would treat her and her husband to an Afternoon tea in celebration! I had originally picked out Villa Fridhem nearby because the pictures looked much nicer on their website than at this place. It was much more expensive though and I was told that Söderköpings Brunn was really pretty good and much closer. I wasn't disappointed! All the baked goods, jams, waffles, ect. were homemade and fantastic! Those scones were out of control!! I think my boyfriends parent's eyes popped out of their sockets when they saw how much he piled on his plate. You don't want to take either of us to a buffet of any kind if you don't want to go crazy and try everything. I'm guilty of heaping it on quite a bit too, but who doesn't love a good buffet?! ;) This hotel/restaurant is in the center of the cute little historic downtown area of Söderköping and is apparently pretty historic itself! This place gets the "Brunn" in it's name (which means a water "well" in English) from the fact that it was built over a naturally fed well. The well was apparently used to supply the victorian style "spa and heath retreat" that existed here back in the day. The hotel still has a spa here on site, but from what I hear the "heath treatments" are much more relaxing nowadays. LOL! I don't think I would've enjoyed my tea as much if it was following an enema. Apparently, that was a real hot offering back then! LOL! I can't really comment on the room conditions here, I wasn't a hotel guest so your guess is as good as mine there. The downsides of the hotel is that it's not decorated exceptionally well, is a little strangely laid out and the tea buffet was haphazardly placed in a hallway area and didn't feel very fancy. I did really like the outdoor seating area next to this little grassy area with a gazebo. I don't think that area has been changed much since the early 1900's. It felt like I could have been dressed in full victorian clothing (parasol and all) enjoying my tea and still be right at home! Overall, pretty enjoyable tea! I highly recommend walking off the buffet on the beautiful sidewalk going along the Göta Kanal (a canal nearby that has a few restaurants and shops in a small "boardwalk style" area by where it passes through the town) or exploring the little cute medieval town itself! Absolutely adorable!

Somehow central train station in smaller towns in Sweden is called "resecentrum" to make it sound…read moremodern, so here what I think about the city's train station. It's smallish but it's a stop for both Intercity train, the local train and the fast train X2000. There's the standard Pressbyrån inside and Espresso House if you don't want to buy coffee from Pressbyrån. There's also a small shop that sells train fast food (cola, salad, sandwiches (or mackor, as they call them in Swedish) and obviously they offer fikameny (kanelbullar och kaffe, anyone?). There's SJ printing machine and benches to sit on. Pretty standard and average train station. The train station is not located in the city center - but on the edge of the city, so you have to walk through the "Järnvägaveny" all the way to the city center. It's probably around 10-minute walk, not more, not less.
