There has been talk for years of new location and it was hoped that the new Whitefriars complex would find a new home for it, but it wasn't to be. I have given it four stars because the service is great and the staff are really friendly. If you ask for a internet password you can order books from home, for a 25p, fee and have them shipped in from other libraries which makes up for the limited stock.

The laibrarians like the libaray are soft spoken and helpful and do a good job of keeping the library thus well maintained.

There are several computers allowing internet access with an hour free attached to your ticket. The ticket also allows you to check on line, renew on line etc. With all the costly things that are out there I think Faversham Library gives value for money not just for books, but for Dvds and general information. My daughter loves it because children don't mind if the most up to date books aren't available. Three weeks book hire is generous and any fines that you have to pay are kept to a minimum. We did not sign up for cards, and therefor did not get to explore the rooms or stacks, but we did enjoy our walk around. During college (as a history major), it was frequently joked that you haven't really researched in a library if you haven't wound up making out in the stacks... well, after a day of research, I enjoyed some fun pictures and 'making out' with my husband, making this a thoroughly educational stop in our London adventure.

The most notable feature however is the introduction of self -checkout systems that were installed last year and does cut down the waiting time for getting your books being stamped.

Canterbury Cathedral is a truly awe-inspiring structure. I don't know much about architecture so I can't tell you what style it is built in but even to an amateur eye it is spectacular. You are allowed to tour the entire building and usually there are guided tours by local residents. On Sundays there are no tours but audioguides are available in a selection of European languages. Things to watch out for is the plaque commemorating the volunteer fire wardens who kept watch over the cathedral during WW II, the extraordinary memorial to Thomas Becket, murdered Archbishop of Canterbury, and the inner sanctum where you can see the seats of the Cardinals. Though my personal favourite cathedral is Lincoln, Canterbury is well worth a visit.
