I've only been to this part of Campbell and to this general location due to library events and both of them were for Mitch Albom. This recent event was in the Heritage Theatre. It was a night time event and raining unfortunately. The space itself is relatively large. It's a large auditorium with plenty of seats. It's not a new place but their seats are cushioned which is nice. Parking was plentiful as well as right next to the venue. They do have restrooms inside and didn't have to wait at all which was nice when you're going to a theater like event and not having to wait for a stall. Came here for a ballet show on a Saturday. I was pretty impressed with the aesthetic of the theater. It's a smaller, intimate theater as opposed to a large sized one. Ample parking since it appears it used to be a school at some point, and very kind staff. i had to pick my tickets up at will-call and it was a breezy easy process. We both love Linda Ronstadt and saw this was coming up. Easy to book tickets online and choose seats. Easy to pickup tickets at willcall. Plenty of parking (we came early, parked then walked into downtown Campbell for dinner). Bought a couple of glasses of sparkling wine in reusable cups ($15 each w the cup, can bring back) so we could take into theater. Greeted by door usher & directed toward seats. Found row & seats easily. Band came out on time and got right to some great tunes. Unfortunately, can't really dance at seat so we moved to back of theater so we could dance. (Theater only 2/3 full). Handicap area was being used by about 4 volunteers enjoying show. But couldn't tell if they were enjoying since sitting pretty stoic. We tried to stay out of way but guess our dancing bothered some one so an employee asked us to move out of door way. So we moved to corner of handicap area and danced in a small area. At intermission, one volunteer told us we were distracting with our dancing & singing along (which the singer Told the crowd to do!!) We reminded her that we are at a concert & if she had a better place for us to dance we would. But she got up & left so we stayed and danced & sang during next set. Some other fun girls came and danced in row in front of us so I'm glad more had a good time. So if you want to dance at a show there, I highly suggest getting seats in back row, it's still a good view of stage since it's a small venue. read more

I came here for a kids' performance of The Lion King... with dancing. It varied between pretty cool (older kids who know what they are doing and followed a routine) to hilarious (younger kids who didn't know what they were doing/got confused/did their own kind of made up routines). In any case, it was very entertaining. The theater though, is pretty nice. The air conditioning is strong, so on a hot day it's very welcome. The bathrooms are also nice and clean, which is important. I believe they could have been selling some drinks and snacks here during the intermission, but for some reason they weren't. Pro-tip: the gas station down the street sells drinks and snacks. You can brown bag it if necessary. The chairs were those ones with the spring-loaded bottoms, which I didn't really like. They are creaky and kind of annoying. Also, they packed them in pretty tight. You will get to know your neighbor whether you want to or not. The theatre is also a bit old, it doesn't look run down, but clearly it's not modern. Outside there's a big fountain, so if younger kids get bored of the play you can let them throw random plant detritus in it. Just be careful they don't slip on the dirt and face plant into said-dirt, thus jamming the aforementioned dirt into their eyes, nose, and mouth. Because, uh, I heard that can happen. Anyway, it's a nice theater and I had a nice time. A refresh on the interior with some better chairs and some kind of drinks, even just bottled water, would have made it better though. read more

Very small theater. Sat on the 8th row (row G) paid about $80 a seat and could not see the middle of the stage at all due to the people sitting in front of me. Had to constantly move around to see what was going on in the center of the stage. Seats were not comfortable at all and very outdated. Came here for the first time to see a dance performance. Turns out it was a full 3 hour production. I was very impressed with the smooth way the ushers got everyone in. Note that the restrooms are located outside. (Meaning in a separate building from the theater) Seats were comfortable - and I really don't think there was a 'bad' seat in the house. Went to the 2010 Silicon Valley Reads for Michael Pollan "In Defense Of Food" FREE talk at the Heritage Theatre. We got there about 6:15pm and WOW the line was really long. Glad we got there early. There's parking for 782 FREE, that's nice. The doors opened at 6:45pm and they opened up all 3 doors counting the people I think letting in 100 at a time until they filled up. They tried to get every seat filled because it was very popular. It's an 800-seat theater so pretty small. No food or beverage, you can bring bottled water inside. They had Prospect HS Jazz Ensemble playing loud jazz music. They played until 7:25pm. Campbell Mayor Evan Low, 26 was there & talked a bit. Someone from HealthTrust was there. They mentioned it'll be rebroadcasted on KLIV (1590AM) on Thurs., Feb. 4, 2010 at 7pm. Mike Cassidy from the SJ Mercury Newspaper interviewed Michael Pollan. Both were funny. It lasted from 7:35pm to 9pm. Michael Pollan ate lunch at Sal's in Berkeley. 1/2 roast beef sandwich & matzo ball soup. He shops at Berkeley Bowl. His son Isaac interned at Chez Panisse. Bathrooms: Separate on the far left. Women's had at least 12 stalls/several sinks. Recommended to go to next yrs Silicon Valley Reads at this theatre. Saw the first concert held in the theater since Covid lockdown shut everything down. Jake Shimabukuro, ukulele master player, was fantastic and my husband and I really enjoyed the show. We are thinking of getting season tickets after we had so much fun tonight. We want to support local venues as they start to reopen, and this venue is beautiful, no bad seats, and historic as well. Nice to have a theater that has an intimate setting so close by. read more

Glad that the City of Campbell kept this historical site and building. The grounds are very well-maintained and love the small glass art pieces floating on the two fountains right outside the theatre. Came here to watch my niece's dance performance and felt quite nostalgic seeing the interior wood paneling and smelling the scent of an old building. Not long ago my parents also came here to be sworn-in as US Citizens. Definitely a place for lasting memories. read more

Most lame concert venue ever. We're here for the Joe Nichols concert and the Ushers are literally racing over to people that stand up, or dance, and scold them and force them to sit down. It's truly unfortunate, Joe was great! Venue...horrible. Choose to spend your money wisely. If you can find the artist elsewhere, support him/her/them elsewhere. If you are looking for a funeral-like atmosphere for a concert choice, then this is your place. read more

Great little theater! Have been here a couple times and there isn't really a bad seat in the house. Good pricing as well for the shows. I'm not thrilled about having to purchase one of their glasses to take a drink into the theater. I was here today to watch a stand up comedy by EIC. The theatre should atleast keep a buffer time of 15 mins. The comedian was performing and sharp at 8:30 they turned off the mics and turned on all the lights! Shouldn't have been this way! read more

It's a good theater but seats are really good only for people who are less than 5"8"...so a guy like me is just able to sit without knees touching the front seat. My son and others were sitting with their legs splayed. Luckily the people in front were understanding. On the other hand, most of the crowd are older people in their 60s and very few were more than 5'6"...so I guess it works out for them. Restrooms can accomodate maybe 5 people at a time, which results in a long line during intermission. read more

I have attended this venue for multiple shows. Everything from my kids' dance recital to a live concert. I love the intimate size of the venue, the people who work here are really nice, parking is ample (and they don't charge for it), and the exterior grounds are beautiful. This is a hidden gem worth seeking out as an entertainment venue. read more

Went to see classical music performance by pianist Jon Nakamatsu and Peninsula orchestra. Nice building from outside, horrible seating, poor acoustic. Heritage should have Warning displayed everywhere, if you are taller than 5'2" and/or heavier than 120 lb, you will be tortured by your seat. SouthWest Airline seats are luxurious compare to Heritage seats. read more

This theater is run by amateurs who are tone deaf on customer service. Our group of four had front row tickets for a show we were really looking forward to, only to realize half way through the opening act that duplicate tickets were sold for our seats. Ok, we can't both sit there. But the venue simply told us we had to leave the seats and move to the balcony, and to date have done nothing to acknowledge their mistake and try and make it right. We were disappointed and embarrassed, and unable to enjoy the rest of the show. We won't go back. read more

Went here for the Blues Traveler concert on 5/30, and I thought it was a pretty good venue to see a band. The sound was good, and they served beer and wine prior to the show. This place is a renovated high school, and they have done a great job making it a comfortable venue for bands. It's also cool that I was able to see a decent band so close to home, in a small venue. read more

My family and I went to this venue to see a fellow family member perform in a dance show. This was also the first time that I noticed a large "security" presence. It seemed somewhat odd that there was what looked like 6+ yellow jacketed personnel for a family setting. Walking in, tickets in hand tipped me off to the potential issues with security. An older gentleman was attempting to walk out of the door to hand tickets to his family when the security guy aggressively told the man to get back and unless he stamps his hand he wont be allowed back in. Seriously dude!? We walk in, front and center a 6 foot poster I have a cellular phone saying that any recording devices and cameras are strictly prohibited. Ok I get it, there is a video that will be available eventually but did you need a giant poster? A couple numbers into the show a parent was trying to squeeze off a couple pics, a couple seconds later here comes our protection tapping the dad on his shoulder and giving the decapitation hand sign. Intermission comes around to get some fresh air and let the kids stretch their legs. We start our way back in and there at the door is Mr Security scrutinizing hand stamps. A mom and her little performer were in front of us. Mom had a stamp but the little one did not since she was in the show. Dressed like a mini ballerina (maybe three or four years old) in a rainbow tutu she was a sight to see and cute as a button. Mr security told her blankly that the child needed to buy a ticket or she as not allowed in. Mom produced a ticket and said that her two year old son had a ticket and he left at intermission because he was tired and that his sister (rainbow tutu) was going to use his seat. Mr security said flat out, no! Another ticket is needed and that she cant come in. Ok this is a little girl that was performing at the very show she was trying to get into! Mr security's apparent supervisor came over to "help" and told the crowd that of you dont have a ticket you cant get in and if you have a problem with that you need to talk to "Nicole." Wow ok, who is Nicole and do realize that most of the patrons here are family of performers and or the performers themselves! As it turns out, mom ended up buying another ticket that she ended up not even using. I attend MANY theater/concert/art venues that require tickets and also have security. This was BY FAR the MOST RIDICULOUS security I HAVE EVER witnessed! This venue will certainly not be seeing me or my friends and family either. read more

Theater is fine but just saw Gentleman's Rule and expected classics but instead got Justin Br; Bruno Mars and one song of Johnny Cash's. No classics--with an audience of 55+ers you would except some Frank, Tony, Dean and Bobby but no. Also if you get tickets here, be sure to not sit on the side in front--you almost cannot see the stage from there and will miss much of the show. read more

I'd give ZERO stars if I could. My husband and I accidentally purchased two sets of tickets for a show (he was surprising me for my birthday) and now I'm being told that my money WON'T AND CAN'T be refunded ? So now I'm out $156 and that's it? Jenny told me that I could try and peddle them out front prior to the show? I told her that I'm 8 months pregnant and that's not going to work! Oh I can sell them on stubhub or ask a friend ? She says it is marked on their website that tickets are non refundable, I went through the purchasing part of the website and NOWHERE is this listed. It's only if you go to the general information about how to buy tickets does it finally say it on the bottom. Ridiculous. I grew up in community theaters and understand how much support is needed from locals. You can bet we will NEVER support them if something isn't done to correct this. I'm just out $156?? Incredibly stuffy geriatric crowd. Went to see a ROCK band and the old timers (season ticket crowd) were complainig about people standing and dancing. The band (Blues Traveler) was great and the theatre itself is a nice small venue but the crowd would keep me from coming back. read more

Purchased tickets to a show and paid extra money for our specific seats. The note with the the tickets says seating is general admission. I've now been hold for over 45 minutes trying to figure out what is the seating for the show. I don't mind being on hold for a reasonable amount of time, but I think that passed about 30 minutes ago. Brought my friends & clients to see Al Jarreau!! It's intermission but so far it's AMAZING!! Entire theater is on their feet!! So much soul!

We came here to see Mr. B.B. King. My third time to see the King and first time at this venue. I've passed by several times, never thinking I'd see a concert here! The property is spread out - that's because it used to be a high school, Campbell High, built in 1938 by William Weeks who also designed the Hotel De Anza in San Jose as well as many others in the early 1900's. In front of the theater are a couple of ponds with illuminated glass balls, inspired from fishing bobbers that were used when the artist, Cork Marcheschi, fished with his Grandfather. The inside of the theater was very nice, ornate and comfortable. Not a bad seat in the house and they were comfortable! I believe that it's an 800-seat theater and it was sold out when we were there. As always, B.B. King rocked the house along with his opening act, Lukas Nelson, who happens to be Willie Nelson's son. There are elevators on each side of the theater for balcony seats. read more

We had a school performance at this Theatre, and were disappointed by the up-tide and rude attitude of the personal. They were so much worried about following their strict policies, that they kept bugging the audience about any slightest deviations from their policies, even when the performances were going on. It was next to impossible to enjoy the show when you have employees constantly running around and distributing warnings that they will remove you from the Theatre if you don't stop doing what you are doing. I mean I am all for following policies, but if you enforce them in such an up-tide manner and a rude attitude that the audience cannot enjoy the show, then what is the point in going to the show at all. I will certainly recommend to stay away from this Theatre. read more
