We come to Eureka quite often and we will never recommend anyone to stay at this property or any other one that she manages. ADORED THIS PLACE!!!!!…read more Absolutely adorable, so accommodating, so comfortable and affordable! This place was perfect! The apartment was so clean, and the perfect amount of space for me and my family. The owner, Pat, was so kind. Anything we could need, she provided. The location was perfect for walking into town, and all of the authentic stained glass windows were beautiful. Due to COVID, we didn't get to experience the awesome buffet breakfast, but we did get some cute muffins and handmade biscuits and gravy! (Yum!) The building does sit on the side of a steep mountain, and that means lots of stairs!! It was a fabulous workout, although a little inconvenient for my great Aunt, who has a wonky hip, but nothing we couldn't handle! Also, there were cats on the property! Super sweet babies! They made my trip even betg All in all, a fabulous stay. Would totally recommend! As long as you understand boundaries and not being disrespectful to the room and owner. We were able to park conveniently on the street and then walked around town - it is a LOT of walking up and down hills and staircases, so be prepared for that. Our room was cute and quirky (a fake fireplace/space heater) and we did have cable TV and free wifi. At breakfast we met with other guests. For breakfast it was mostly do-it-yourself with pre-packaged breakfasts like frozen waffles but there was also a fruit smoothie drink, a yogurt parfait, and some seemingly fresh pastries. We're glad we came in the "off season" and we had a great time and definitely recommend the place.

Details of our stay--received an email the day before our arrival stating the owners had purchased new furniture, bedding, and had "stocked" the room with "luxury" items. Nothing was new, furniture outdated but okay, and no luxury items of any kind were present. The "dedicated work area" was a small round table, with two old chairs (like you find in a dentist's office from the 90s). The advertised, provided breakfast was a pint of milk, 2 small individual juices, two small granola bars, and two individual cold cereals--one of these expired by six months. This was all the breakfast for two people for a two-night stay. The advertised sauna was extra cost, though was listed as free. With cleaning and service fees, room was $175 a night. Weird thing--our room had a small flyer with the picture of a young girl, with a short bio stating she was 13 and was the housekeeper for the room. Unless they are violating child labor laws, I assume this was one of their kids (and could still be a child labor violation?) A blatant ploy for tips or sympathy or...? All in all, way overpriced and not as described/advertised. Their Facebook post states all rooms are remodeled with fireplaces--not true. We had an issue with safety and reported it, nothing was done. This place in no way felt like a wellness spa stay.

When we first arrived, a man was sitting behind a closed door to the right of the entry in a recliner, almost hiding behind his laptop. We walked into the lobby and saw no one, so we went and knocked on the door of the room where the man was sitting. He finally spoke to us and we were able to get to our room. later than evening, we wanted to take a shower, but found that the shower had no faucet, only a pipe coming out of the wall. That left us no choice but to take a bath in the jacuzzi. Getting in and out was problematic for me, and truly almost dangerous, but I managed. On top of everything else, there is no breakfast so it is false advertising to call it a "B & B". Whereas under the prior owners, I rated the place a 5 out of 5, and referred numerous friends to the place over the years, I am stretching it to give it a rating of 2. Needless to say, we won't be back. It should be noted that the "host", when told of the shower issue, advised that his wife had been working on it and he thought it was finished. He did move us to another room, but the shower in the other room hardly left room to turn around and the water never got more than luke-warm. All I. all, it was a VERY disappointing experience. PS - a phone call on Saturday to advise of the problem with the room was never returned.

Unfortunately our visit this week disappointed. I will say that because of a problem in the original room we booked they did upgrade us to one of the larger apartments. When we arrived there wasn't anyone around even though their office sign said open. We even came back later and still no one there. They did answer our call as they were away from the property. The accommodations were clean and comfortable but the big disappointment was the food. We have stayed at many B&Bs and one of the highlights were the extraordinary breakfast that were served and many provided an evening desert. We were totally unimpressed with the thin slice of store bought pumpkin roll the evening we arrived and the second night they failed to bring a desert at all. The first morning breakfast wasn't horrible, but not impressive, biscuits and gravy and 2 pear slices. It is the second breakfast that stunned us. It was a small sausage patty, a flour tortilla folded over with Nutella in it and sliced bananas on top. We always have enjoyed our B&B stays and one of the reasons for our choosing to book a B&B is the enjoyment of a great breakfast. I've read reviews of others touting the breakfast so don't know what happened. Don't think we will have a return visit.

The high traffic areas needed some serious cleaning. The master bed was all caved in and broken. Just a really bad experience. My kids knees were visibly dirty from just crawling around on the floors like toddlers do. If this is what's considered clean, then I would not recommend these cabins. It was pretty gross.

The only reason The Bradford gets 4/5 is because the bathtub was difficult to get in and out of. Not impossible, but care needs to be taken. Also, I miss the days of daily housekeeping. It might have been available if requested, but I didn't ask. We stayed for four nights. Would recommend and will stay again!
