A hit for each kid was guaranteed, as was a one base advance. And no outs. It was fun watching all those future hall of famers run around chasing balls or the bases. A large number of family members were in attendance, and a fun time was had by all. Lampe Park itself is strategically hidden from the US 395 main drag and can be accessed by turning at Sharkey's (then looping around St. Gall Church) or turning at Walgreens. A huge skateboard park is located across the street. Parking is limited, although we didn't have any problem with that during our visit. Lampe park is a large 32-acres and with impressive ball fields that we experiences up close yesterday. In addition, facilities include: a group pavillion, a soccer/multi-use field, tennis/pickle ball courts, handball and volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, picnic tables, BBQs, and of course a play structure. I found it to be a very roomy, well-kept, and welcoming park.

This little park backs up to the Eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada in the Carson River Basin of Northern Nevada. Celebrated the 4th of July here, listening to some great bluegrass. Watched the kids dancing and having a grand ole time. You feel like you've stepped back in a carefree time for a moment. The Genoa fire department had chicken dinners. Great food, great music and an all around great time. I can still see the children running through the sprinklers. Sons and dads having a catch. Reminds us of our yesteryears with a backdrop of our beautiful Nevada summer weather, mountains, fresh air and butterflies.

We were there to enjoy one of the speakers in their summer series, Christina Thomas, "Songbird: The Story of the Paiute People" and she was great as she shared the history of the Paiute people in the Great Basin. The Dangberg Ranch is located on HWY 88 just south of its intersection with HWY 395, and you'll head west onto a dirt road for about a mile to get to the ranch, and the road is a bit rough, and on the day we went, muddy from recent rain. Was it worth it? Ranger was very nice and helpful. Area has enclosed restroom facilities available near campsites. We found a great spot near the water and ended up being the only campers there. The hot springs facility was closed until the weekend, but looked great. We had a peaceful start to the new year and can't wait to go back to this location to hike and fish in the summer.

We took the boys both 12 yrs with their scooters and they had so much fun we had to drag them away. This is a great skatepark for all levels! There are also benches available and a grass park nearby as well as restaurants, coffee shops, fast food, gas/quickstop. *f your looking for a great skate shop to get you started, to update your current choice of wheels or learn some new tricks, try out The Wheelhouse in Carson City. They have everything you need from scooters, skateboards, bikes, cool apparel, nutrition bars/drinks, and a huge selection of accessories, including wheels, bars grips, cool deck tape and a big selection of stickers, etc. I fell in love with the artsy side if the shop and great customer service. They have a great mentoring program that kids with a little experience can get involved in and help out with younger kids or beginners in the sport. Its a great way to teach kids how to pay it forward and they might learn some tips along the way. They have built an indoor training area in the back part of the shop including a small gym area. They really encourage healthy living and getting active!
